Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a design field (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial) or equivalent practical experience.
• 3 years of professional experience as an interaction designer with relevant portfolio.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience of solving problems where there is a product behavioral outcome rather than user-facing UI
• Experience of delivering UX independently from beginning to end, as well as working closely with a UX team on larger projects
• Excellent grasp of balancing user needs with business strategy
• Visual design skills.

As an Interaction Designer, you’ll rely on user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences—from concept to execution. Like all of our UX jobs, you’ll collaborate with your design partners to leverage and evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative, inspired products that people love to use.

Calendar and Tasks is focused on increasing integration and innovation within other Workspace products, such as Gmail, Google Meet, and Google Chat, as well as improving our standalone products to address the needs of Workspace’s enterprise customers and consumer users.

User experience is at the forefront of how we create intuitive, innovative, and beautiful products that people love. We strive to learn and understand our users’ needs, behaviors, and emotions to gather insights that inform product strategy and design. Our UX teams include designers, researchers, content strategists, and engineers who are passionate about quality, usability, and simplicity. We work on collaborative teams to solve complex challenges and craft experiences that highlight our products’ unique capabilities and personalities. Our work touches billions while exemplifying a key principle that is core to Google’s philosophy: “Focus on the user and all else will follow.”

Responsibilities

• Form cross-functional relationships inside and outside of the team (e.g. with partners in other product teams)
• Work with Product Managers and User Experience Researchers to understand, define, and validate solutions via testing and consultation with users
• Create well-crafted design proposals that communicate rationale, align stakeholders, and help to clarify scope
• Work with other designers and engineers to iterate, prototype, and arrive at comprehensive solutions
• Deliver precise, conceptually elegant design and work closely with engineers to ensure high quality execution
