Accounting Manager reporting to the International Controller and based at the company’s International Headquarters in Baar, Zug. Essential role for the monthly, quarterly, and yearly close process of Switzerland and other local entities throughout Europe.

As Accounting Manager, You Will
  • Be responsible for a great extent of the monthly close accounting entries, understand and verify
accounting entries performed in Lumentum’s Shared Service Center.
  • Follow the month-end closing process and anticipate actions where needed. Guide local teams or
Shared Service Center teams to reach accounting books of high quality and that are easily

auditable.
  • Prepare variance analyses and account reconciliations on a monthly and quarterly basis,
according to Lumentum’s established processes.
  • Maintain, together with the Shared Service Center, accuracy of the Oracle statutory ledgers that
will be used for local accounts and tax returns. Assisting site Statutory Accounting in any

required aspects.
  • Be the main point of contact to liaise with the external tax and accounting partners preparing
local statutory accounts, tax returns, VAT returns in CH and other EMEA countries.
  • Make sure processes defined for the local accounting record retention is followed internally.
  • Follow-up internally on compliance measures recommended by the external tax and accounting
partners.
  • Help the Lumentum global finance team improving financial reporting systems and processes.
  • Contribute to the development of new processes, in particular system & process enhancements.
  • Follow the company policies and SOX compliance.
  • Assist with special projects as requested.
Essential Qualifications
  • Solid accounting degree, Bachelor or equivalent. Broad knowledge of main accounting
processes.
  • 5+ years of work experience, preferably in global environments and in matrix organizations.
  • Knowledge of international accounting (US GAAP /IFRS) preferred. Knowledge of Swiss
GAAP FER/OR mandatory. Experience with Swiss VAT (reconciling, filing) mandatory.
  • Oracle user knowledge a big plus (GL and possibly AP, INV, FA).
  • Excellent Excel skills are a must (lookups, pivots, formulas).
  • English and German fluent; Italian or French a big plus. Very good oral and clear written
communication skills.
  • Common sense and hands on attitude. Self-motivated and autonomous, goal oriented, task driven
and team player. Initiative to improve processes and make proposals.
  • Problem solving mentality and willingness to go beyond the own responsibility area when
needed.
