The Neuroscience and Rare Diseases Discovery and Translational Area (NRD DTA) is developing medicines for a range of serious neurological diseases, including multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, autism, spinal muscular atrophy, and Huntington’s disease.

As a student in the NRD DTA you will join our Clinical Imaging group in Biomarkers and Translational Technologies , and perform at the Roche Innovation Center Basel, Switzerland, working on the analysis of PET and MRI data from Alzheimer’s disease clinical trials and international collaborations. You will be hosted and mentored by two Roche biomarker scientists who will guide you through your research and provide you with the needed work infrastructure and collaborative network.

During your internship, you will have the opportunity to contribute to an important collaborative project and learn about analysis of imaging data in the context of clinical trials. Depending on your interests, you can also participate in events such as trainings and seminars.

Moreover, you are
  • An ambitious MSc or PhD student who is currently enrolled with a minimum of 3 years undergraduate training in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or Engineering

  • Experience in imaging data processing and analysis

  • Experience in medical imaging processing is a plus

  • Specific knowledge on Neurodegeneration is a plus

  • Proficient in English (both spoken and written)

The preferred starting date for this internship is June 1, 2021
