IoT Product Specialist

In this role you will be responsible to define the ABB Ability Energy & Asset Manager Framework requirements to onboard the next generation of ABB Ability Connected Devices. Support and synchronize activities with ABB Ability team and Division Digital Product Management for planning, driving, expediting, documenting and communicating the ABB Ability Energy & Asset Manager Framework. Define Information Model and Digital Twin architecture for Electrification. As an IoT Product Specialist, you will be working on the future power systems technology, with a special focus on IoT platform technology components. In this high-impact position within a global digital team, you will oversee the definition and maintenance of platform requirements.

Your responsibilities

• Common information models based on ABB Digital Twin concept. Collaborate with division Digital Product Managers and Division R&D. Edge gateway solutions for field computing and connectivity and cloud connectivity according to ABB specification.
• Common API layer for 3rd party application integration. Maintain an API catalog as well as Software Development Kit. Common layer for the integration of predictive algorithms in agreement with Division’s roadmap and product vision.
• ABB Device integration via a set of commissioning tools, to enable Divisions to integrate devices to the Electrification common IoT platform. Review ABB Cybersecurity guideline and ensure platform compliance to them.
• Act as a product owner and a main point of contact between development teams and stakeholders to ensure appropriate representation of needs. Manage and prioritize product requirements according to the product roadmap in DevOps.
• Lead the software development process to meet the objectives of each release, adjust and improving each iteration of the product before release. Identify areas of improvement. Communicate project delivery related decisions towards project and service management, ensure resolution of issues and avoid delivery issues, maintain a join project plan according to ABB Ability Energy & Asset Manager implementation.
• Contribute to the platform aspects, in cooperation with technology management team and the global product group management. Analyze Divisions technical specification and common requirements that should be fulfilled by the platform in terms of product modeling.
• Evaluate division requirements and technology trends to provide feedback to appropriate stakeholders. Match division specifications for emerging technologies. Actively contribute to technical bodies both inside and outside the company and ensure information flow among all relevant parts of the organization. Act as a digital expert for special tasks in the wider organization.
• Contribute to a common digital representation of products based on industry standards. Grant interoperability with ABB and third-party systems. Identify opportunity for common implementation, to be addressed by common module through Electrification, minimize time to market and reducing recurring engineering cost from the divisions.

Your background

• Mater degree in Computer Science or equivalent, 5+ years of experience in managing or developing IoT solutions based on cloud technology. Strong DevOps / SCRUM methodologies.
• SCRUM Product Owner Certification is a plus. Knowledge of Platform as a Services and Software as a Service cloud patterns. Knowledge of communication, automation, analytics, and machine learning.
• Cloud connectivity (IoT, Edge Cloud, Hybrid Systems), digital twins and information modeling, data representation and notation: XML, JSON. IT, networking, field communication and industrial protocols.
• Ability to act as the interface between offerings Global Product Managers and R&D.
• Strong communication and leadership skills and ability to guide, coach and mentor others, analytical and conceptual thinking, strategic thinking.
• A collaborative, solutions-oriented person, with strong communication and relationship building skills with colleagues of other departments.
• Creative, energetic, self-motivated, flexible team player with an ability to work independently. Fluency in English language both written and verbal.
