IS Security Architect Turbocharging (80-100%)

November 19, 2020, ABB announced the planned divestment of its Turbocharging Division. Turbocharging is a successful and profitable Division in a mature market and has been for long time a highly self-reliant business within ABB. ABB has decided to take this step, acknowledging that for Turbocharging to realize its full potential going forward, a new setup is required. As the next step, alternative ownership options, including a spin-off to the Swiss stock market, will be assessed, considering value for customers, ABB and the future of the turbocharging business. You will be reporting to the Head of Information Security, based in Switzerland. As part of a talented IT security team who will work closely with you you will define state of the art security requirements and perform security assessments of our applications and infrastructure to ensure the compliance with internal and customer requirements.

Your responsibilities

  • Guide the turbocharging team on security requirements and secure architecture design to strengthen team’s awareness and proactiveness
  • Perform cyber security assessments of our infrastructure and applications, indentify gaps and ensure the implementation of identified mitigation actions
  • Become our expert in security architecture and secure lifecycle
  • Provide security consulting to other teams for infrastructure and application related projects
  • Be our responsible for tests and evaluation of new technologies in cyber security
  • Evaluate, select and implement secure architectures and security solution concepts in close collaboration with IS infrastructure and IoT product development teams
  • Define security requirements and a secure architecture for turbocharging based on internal guidelines, common standards and customer requirements.
  • Initiate and sustain implementation of security requirements within the Division
  • Drive activities to defend Division’s business against cyber security risks and threats: Identify gaps through security assessments of Division’s infrastructure and applications and ensure effective implementation of identified mitigation actions.

Your background

  • Software engineering degree in IT security, cyber security or similar
  • 10+ years of experience in information security or software security engineering roles
  • Understanding of common security requirements and industry security standards
  • Knowhow on secure system architecture, cryptographic and security protocols, and protocols associated with cloud technologies, preferably Microsoft Azure
  • Experience in infrastructure & application security assessments
  • Knowledge about commonly accepted secure lifecycle
  • Experience with security compliance requirements/frameworks
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
