In the division Data Management & Shared Services, we support the implementation of Zurich Switzerland’s strategy by providing the appropriate IT application landscape and driving digitalisation forward.

Our way of working is based on ITIL and includes DevOps and DataOps. In the role of Service Delivery & Operations Manager, you will have a decisive influence on shaping the further development and operation of Zurich’s data platforms in a modern and sustainable way and supporting Zurich Business on the ongoing path to digitalisation.


Data Management is responsible for the definition and implementation of data management as well as the development of strategic data integration and reporting platforms for the BU Switzerland. Data Management implements various business projects in direct cooperation with the business units and is responsible for the smooth technical operation of the corresponding solutions and services.


We are looking for a Service Delivery & Operations Manager to actively support the monitoring of the existing Finance Data Management infrastructure and the implementation of a data ecosystem. The Service Delivery & Operations Manager is responsible for the services, communication between platform users, incident & problem management of our data platform for Finance and hands-on implementation of DataOps resp. DevOps topics as part of an efficient platform team in close coordination with the project teams.


What you will do


  • The further development of the data and reporting platforms in close coordination with the product owners, architects and business stakeholders.
  • Working on the development of new infrastructures and platforms in line with Zurich’s strategic direction.
  • Day-to-day operation of the data platforms and ensure that the targeted goals and stability of the infrastructure and applications are achieved.
  • Agreeing and monitoring operational metrics for quality, service, security and cost & with the relevant stakeholders.
  • Receiving Service Level Requirements (SLR) and negotiating Service Level Agreements (SLA) with IT / Business stakeholders and managing dependencies and interfaces with an ITIL as well as DataOps focus.
  • Ensuring stakeholder management in a complex environment with internal and external suppliers.
  • Defining new services and bringing them into production, then monitoring and optimising the performance and costs of the services & IT applications.
  • The creation, implementation and maintenance of the service catalogue and the associated costs.
  • The optimisation and quality improvement of the services.

What you bring


  • You have a completed Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree with a focus on IT or in an IT-related field.
  • More than 5 years of professional experience with proven track record with ITIL in the same or similar role as a project manager, requirements engineer, data engineer, software engineer, solution engineer in an IT field.
  • Hands-on mindset with a can-do attitude.
  • Are a critical thinker who seeks continuous improvement, as well as regularly and independently challenges the status quo.
  • Pragmatic and strong analytical skills to understand and abstract complex issues.
  • Several years of practical experience in designing and implementing database systems and data transformation processes (ideally very good knowledge of T-SQL and ETL/ELT or automation tools).
  • Desired technical skills: SQL Server management (clustering and high availability as well as Active Directory, Microsoft Master Data Services, Azure DevOps, PowerShell, R and Python).
  • Understanding of and affinity for application costs, their origination and optimisation.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English, knowledge of German is an advantage.
