Primary Function of Position

You will be collaborating with Algorithm and Software Engineers in the Vision Engineering team in Aubonne, Switzerland. There you will analyze surgical video sequences acquired by the DaVinci endoscopes and write algorithms to extract information using computer vision, signal processing, statistics, and machine learning methods.

Roles & Responsibilites

  • Develop software to analyze surgical videos
  • Develop computer vision algorithms
  • Implement algorithms in Python or C++
  • Present the results of the project to the organization

University Hiring Program Eligibility Requirements

  • University Enrollment : Must be currently enrolled in and returning to an accredited degree-seeking academic program in the fall.
  • Intership Work Period : Must be available to work full-time (approximately 40 hours per week) during a 10-12 week period starting in May or June. Specific start dates will be shared during the recruiting process and will take the student’s academic program requirements into account.

Required qualifications :

  • Current enrollment in a Computer VIsion, COmputer Engineering, Life Science, or equivalent MAsters program in a STEM field.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Good programming skills, preferably in Python or C++
  • Knowledge of computer vision methods
  • Knowledge in algorithm development and machine learning
  • Familiarity with Python CV/ML tools ; scikit-learn, NumPy, and at least one deep learning package such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
