In a Matrixed Functions / Geographies Set-up

The position is based in the Intuitive head offices in Aubonne, Switzerland. It is one of five legal counsel positions reporting to the EMEA Legal Director.
  • the position’s functional focus is legal guidance and support to:
    • The healthcare compliance group
    • Marketing
    • Market Access and customer benefits optimization Public Affairs
    • Media relations and communication
    • Cross train and back up in customer training, clinical, research & development, and pricing agreements
  • the position’s geographical focus is legal guidance and support to UK and Ireland
  • Qualified lawyer with 5-8 years of professional experience, at least three of which in significant law firms.
  • Familiar with general (e.g. FCPA, UKBA, Sapin II, national ABAC laws) and sector-specific laws and regulations (e.g. transparency obligations in HCP interactions, limitations of HCP engagements and compensation) and codes (Advamed, Medtech Europe, national industry associations’ codes) governing Intuitive’s healthcare compliance programs.
  • Familiar with laws and regulations governing the advertising and promotion of healthcare products in European jurisdictions.
  • Familiar with key laws and regulations applying to the manufacture, placing on the market, promotion and sale of medical devices in Europe
  • Experience in contracting with major surgeon associations (e.g. Royal College of Surgeons)
  • Experience in contracting with public institutions (e.g. public hospitals and universities)
  • Experience in contracting with government officials (GOs) and politically exposed persons (PEPs)
  • Flawless and unquestionable integrity, lived up to and clearly communicated as an integral part of your business acumen - with courage, determination and clarity of purpose
  • Mature personality, able to handle pressure when needed and to demonstrate resilience when appropriate.
  • Understanding / experience of complex, matrixed and dynamic (changing) global organizations.
  • Thriving in deliberately diverse and inclusive international working environments
  • Ability to prioritize accurately and to keep focused in a complex, changing, demanding and fast-paced changing environment.
  • English is Intuitive’s working language - proficiency in German and/or French are an advantage - other European languages are welcome.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment
  • Occasional travels to be foreseen.
  • Ability to work from home if and as needed.
  • And not least: a sense of humor.
