Position Summary

The Director, HR Services & Operations will be responsible for leading the delivery of HR shared services globally across all Cabot businesses and functions, including the management of the company’s HR technology platforms. S/He will have direct oversight for the development and implementation of the HR Services Delivery strategy, programs, and processes including HR shared services teams. This position will also lead the transformation and implementation of a new human capital technology platform.

The position oversees the design and continuous improvement of core HR processes and policies and partners with management, employees, and vendors to drive operational excellence and delivery across all HR Shared Services (Payroll, HRIS, Talent Analytics, Relocation and Expatriate Management). This role will manage a global team and be responsible for development and deployment of potential new, fit-for-purpose approaches HR service delivery.

The location of this role can be flexible based in Europe or the US with a preference near a Cabot office located in either Schaffhausen, Switzerland; Riga, Latvia; Billerica, MA; Boston, MA; Alpharetta, GA.

Job Responsibilities

Global HR Services & Operations
  • Develop, implement, and continuously evaluate an HR Services & Operations strategy for Cabot which ensures the HR function delivers an exceptional user experience to employees and candidates.
  • Establish a global HR Services delivery organization, which requires the alignment and coordination of current, regional HR operations delivery teams.
  • Manage the quality, consistency, and efficiency of services delivered from HR Services and Communities of Expertise (COEs) for HR administration, payroll, global mobility, total rewards, talent acquisition, and talent management in order to achieve a consistently positive employee and potential employee experience.
  • Oversee the management of Cabot’s HR technologies, including core HCM and ancillary systems which feed data to and from this system. Ensure the deployment of HR technologies support business requirements.
  • Oversee Cabot’s global relocation & mobility program ensuring that employee relocation and/or expatriate experience with Cabot meets business requirements, is cost and market competitive, and delivers a positive experience to the program participants
  • Oversee Cabot’s N.A. payroll activity to ensure the timely, accurate and locally- compliant administration of payroll processing; Future state: expand HR Services scope to oversee global payroll activity
  • Support the delivery of HR Functional projects in alignment with the HR RENEW (HR Service Delivery transformation)
  • Actively manage the quality of HR Services delivery through the delivery teams supporting each region; develop and manage dashboards and HR Operations’ KPIs – providing data that is useful to both HR and business leaders.
  • Effectively manage and partner with internal partners and external vendors, including but not limited to leading RFP processes and less formal processes, to select, hire and onboard vendors

  • Requirements
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or related field
    • 5-7 years of experience leading HR Services & Operations in a global organization is required; additional experience working as an HR business partner and/or HR generalist highly desired
    • 3-5 years of people leadership experience
    • Experience with HCM technology implementation; preferably a leadership role. Cabot will be implementing an enterprise-wide transition to SAP Success Factors; Success Factors experience highly desired.
    • Strong strategic, analytic, problem-solving and organizational skills; a data, process, and metrics-oriented mindset
    • Demonstrated experience leading change, integrating and synthesizing disparate practices into global standards and practices
    • Collaborative approach to working with internal customers and experience managing external third-party vendors
    • Team player who responds to challenge with a sense of urgency
    • Superb customer service orientation with outstanding interpersonal skills
    • Experience working in a global manufacturing company known as a great place to work highly desirable
