Your role

• Leads Siegfried’s Global Sourcing and Purchasing organization and is responsible for overall third party relationships, spends and contracts. Assists and consults top management in all procurement related issues for products and services. Strongly supports cost savings, efficiency gains, risk management and secures global supply of all production sites
• Leads the category management organization in direct chain of command and the site procurement organization functionally
• Establishes policies and procedures for purchasing
• Builds-up a sourcing and purchasing organization and infrastructure required to execute best in class Sourcing and Purchasing for the group
• Sponsors Siegfried-wide procurement activities working closely with product- and business development team in pursuit of:

• Sustainable reduction in the total cost of goods and services (TCO), ensuring required lead-time and quality
• Proactively securing the supply base by defining product group specific supply strategies

Prepares annual and long-term strategic sourcing plans, which identify how the sourcing organization intends to achieve Siegfried’s goals

Monitors costing and tracking savings achievements, which are built in annual operative purchasing and cost center budgets

Develops and implements a purchasing employee value proposition with top management that leads to an upgrade in Siegfried’s purchasing talent base

Supports and promotes the Code of Ethics as an integral part of the Siegfried Business principles

The Global Head Procurement

• Acts in accordance with the quality guidelines of Siegfried, cGMP rules, international GMP requirements, government stipulations, as well as standard roles, and enforces their application in the sphere of responsibility
• Defines, shapes and develops the global organizational purchasing structure. Considers all implications regarding centralizing/decentralizing - enabling synergies and efficiency gains
• Approves all changes to organizational set-up of Siegfried’s site related procurement teams
• Is responsible for people management and training within the organization as well as for tools, systems and processes
• Participates in work on medium- and long term planning (ROFO, sales, earnings and capital expenditure, acquisitions)
• Plans and implements manpower schedule and job schedules in the sphere of responsibility
• Works on special projects as assigned
• Establishes, in cooperation with the compliance department, standards of quality for purchased items/services and supplier qualification
• Defines the purchasing strategy in collaboration with Planning & Portfolio Management, Research & Development, Business Development & Sales, Finance, Engineering, Operations departments, and is responsible for its implementation
• Draws up the annual capital expenditure for spends

Your profile

Qualifications

• Chemistry with PhD or MBA
• English (business fluent) mandatory
• German (business fluent) preferred

Professional Experience

• 10-15 years’ experience working within procurement
• Knowledge of the CMO procurement market
• Experience in Opex and Capex purchasing
• Experience with complex negotiation situations
• Knowledge of common synthesis routes and methods
• Experience in identifying potential sources of intermediates and critical raw materials
• Proven methodological competence for strategic purchasing and process optimization in purchasing
• Management experience in a comparable organization and with virtual teams
• Experience working within a complex matrix organization
