Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

The Business Technology department is the backbone of the entire IT infrastructure within our Digital Business Services organization. It enables digital services for the group and defines and implements infrastructure policies, solutions, architecture, and standards. The global data center team

builds and operates an effective hub organization supporting the shared Group IT infrastructure and centralized application platforms, hosting servers in a fully virtualized environment on-premise & cloud and overseeing three global datacenters US, CH, MY (on-premise / cloud). For the Global Data Center Services team, we are looking for an experienced Manager Global Data Center 100% (f/m/d).

Join our Data Center - Cloud team at the global operational headquarters in Greifensee, Zurich.

In this role, you are responsible for defining the strategy, architecture and sustainable solutions in the Data Center solution area. You lead a team of Solution Architects to design, plan and build global data center and cloud solutions. You closely collaborate with the Data Center Operations team and act as Service Manager for all Data Center and Cloud Services.

Your responsibilities

* Design METTLER TOLEDO’s global datacenter & cloud infrastructure (Azure / AliBaba)

* Responsible for a sustainable design within the datacenter and cloud space as well as its integration with other solution areas along the whole solution lifecycle

* Drive the transformation of our environment towards an Infrastructure-As-Code approach

* Act as an architecture guardian striving for standard solutions

* Assess change requests for technical feasibility, effort, and risk including cost estimates

* Conduct active requirements engineering with our business partners globally

* Explore new technologies and assess its potential, initiate and guard changes

* Act as Project Manager within the solution area and Technical lead in implementation projects

* Work with other Solutions Architect on different projects outside the datacenter area

* Review, refresh and evolve datacenter infrastructure in our three global datacenters in the US, Switzerland and Malaysia

* Manage our cloud environment in Azure and AliBaba

What You Need to Succeed

* Bachelor / Master degree in Engineering (Informatics, Computer Science or equivalent)

* At least 5 years’ design experience with focus on datacenter in enterprise environments (proven Datacenter Infrastructure Design, Architecture and Project Management skills)

* Strong experience adopting Microsoft Azure (IaaS/PaaS/Dev-OPS services)

* Knowledge of VMWare SDDC solutions is a big asset

* Expert in scripting, automating and orchestrating infrastructure related procedures

* Strong time management and organizational skills including the ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously and deal with stressful situations

* Authentic, self-driven team player with a result-oriented and positive attitude

* Ability to adopt to different surroundings and situations in a multicultural environment

* Open for international travel depending on business needs (approx.10%)

* Excellent written and spoken English, German is a plus
