Our mission is to ensure a reliable, punctual, safe, customer-oriented and efficient Operation of the Lufthansa Group. Operations Surveillance is an integral part of the Lufthansa Group Safety Monitoring concept providing services for SWISS, Edelweiss, Lufthansa Airlines and Austrian Airlines.

To ensure the safety and security of the daily Lufthansa Group Flight Operations, the position Operations Surveillance performs regular checks according to Lufthansa Group standards and regulations.

  • Ensures a safe, punctual, reliable, customer-focused and economic LHG Flight Operations (up to 400 flights per day at the main hub of SWISS)
  • Performs daily checks to ensure a high quality of the outsourced ramp handling, specifically the required checks such as load control, departure, remote and de-icing checks
  • Assesses and reports the outcome of the checks and blind spots of the Operations to the Head of Surveillance and ZRH Station Management
  • Initiates corrective actions and informs SWISS Station management about safety failures
  • Ensures best possible punctuality, schedule regularity and to minimize irregularity cost in daily operations
  • Ensures an exchange with the Ground Service Provider and Airport of Zurich
  • Initiate necessary actions to recover from irregularities

We are looking for a safety-minded and experienced person that is able to independently work with.

  • Must be available with immediate effect
  • Must have a valid Dangerous Goods Cat 10 training
  • Must have a current Lufthansa Group specific operations surveillance qualification on a Lufthansa Group network station, specifically Ops Basic Course (ST/B) including Walk-out assistance and De-Icing
  • Must have the regular requalification trainings within the required and defined manuals
  • Must have at least 5 years of operations surveillance experience in a Lufthansa Group company applying the respective standards, IT applications and reporting systems
  • Very good understanding of the safety management system (SMS)
  • Ability to take own decisions in operational context in daily operations considering the operational, financial and customer impact
