Chemours is seeking a Product Stewardship & Regulatory Consultant to join our growing Advanced Performance Materials (APM) Business Sustainability team! This position will report directly to the Business Sustainability Manager at our Wilmington, DE location.

As a Product Stewardship & Regulatory Consultant, you will be part of a close-knit team of motivated and energetic professionals where you will contribute to our business success by providing subject matter expertise on product compliance, safety and sustainability. You will be tasked with ensuring the business has information appropriate for decision making and managing work within a sustainability organization.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Drive implementation of legal, safe and trusted sustainability framework by understanding current regulations, as well as assessing emerging regulations and changes in chemical policy landscape in order to derive implications for assigned product lines
• Work as part of business team to assess risks and opportunities and potential impact on product line strategy. Provide input to strategic plan to mitigate risk / capitalize on opportunities.
• Providing concrete guidance to the business for issue management using all internal Product Sustainability resources to give a full picture and drive decision making
• Accountability for external communications for product specific issues, including response to customer inquiries, to ensure consistency across regions
• Completion of product line sustainability reviews to detect emerging issues, confirm compliance and support CRC goals
• Lead the Product Sustainability workstream for New Product Development (NPD) process and provide guidance in all Management of Change (MOC) decisions for assigned product lines
• Proactively improve understanding of global regulatory requirements / chemical management systems, with particular emphasis on EU REACH
  

The Following Is Required For This Role

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related science with minimum 5 years work experience
• Previous product stewardship or regulatory compliance experience
• Excellent analytical skills
• Excellent interpersonal and written / oral communication skills
• Excellent project planning and management skills
• Ability to provide information to a variety of audiences effectively
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
• Demonstrated attention to detail, drive for results and ownership mentality
  

The Following Is Preferred For This Role

• Experience with / awareness of Fluoropolymer product lines or organofluorine chemistries
• Experience with EU REACH
• Willingness and ability to work with internal and external stakeholders and across country lines and time zones
