As a Regional Flavour Portfolio Manager in our T&W Division, you will accomplish tasks to create targeted revenue and win-rate goals established for the Europe commercial team. You will build flavour collections according to specific requirements (i.e. customer, regulatory, legislation, and cost); identify appropriate flavor delivery systems and technologies for customer projects in specific applications; develop knowledge of flavours within our regional collections and leverage this information to succeed business in the local markets. Your responsibilities will also include the management of customer catalogues and ingredient toolboxes. You will report directly to the Director of Portfolio and Systems and be based in Kemptthal.

You Will:

  • Collection Management: Manage assigned regional flavour portfolio, to ensure it is relevant, complete, profitable and aligned with our strategy. Assure data quality and relevance for Champions collection flavours through regular portfolio analysis and by initiating the necessary improvement measures. Build data searches and select flavours from the Europe Flavour Portfolio to meet customer requirements while showcasing Givaudan’s technical capabilities.
  • Collection Development: Support segment Regional Innovation teams during regional flavour collection reviews to set regional standards. Identify flavour improvement opportunities, develop comprehensive strategies to close flavour gaps, and support the technical teams through the execution process.
  • Collaboration: Partner with Marketing, Sales, Flavour Creation teams to present and promote Givaudan’s Flavour Portfolio to customers. In collaboration with the Regional Innovation teams and with Operations assure a sustainable and creative product portfolio and ensure commercialisation and promotion.
  • Coaching: Act a regional flavour portfolio expert and advisor and build knowledge around Champions collection flavours within the Europe FC&A and commercial teams. Provide directions to develop flavour selection IT tools and coach, train and motivate other members of the local and regional teams in selecting flavours from collections.

You Have:

  • Masters Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, and at least 5 years experience in the flavour industry or related food industry
  • Good project management skills and expert in leading complex regional portfolio projects
  • Understanding of most food applications, ingredients, and processes with experience in customers’ food manufacturing environment
  • Experience with many of the flavour reactions/interactions in common food products
  • Experience with Sensory, Consumer Understanding and Brands
  • Fluent in English; any additional language skills are of advantage
  • Good data processing skills and able to structure complexity
  • Used to work in a virtual matrix organisation
  • Excellent team player; able to work as part of a team to achieve corporate or organizational goals
  • Expert in managing and guiding Flavour Portfolio Specialists in local markets
