LSI is now looking for aRegulatory Managerto support our Microbial Control Solutions Business. In this exciting role you will be located at our offices in Blackley (Manchester, UK), Castleford (UK) or Basel (Switzerland). As a subject matter expert you will guide business colleagues on the regulation of biocides and help to develop, manage and deliver one of the largest programmes of work under the EU Biocidal Products Regulation. The role offers enormous scope in terms of both chemistries and applications including the opportunity to work on a portfolio of products covering Products Types 1 to 4, 6 to 13 and 21. The role may be focused on active substance support and / or on authorisation of biocidal products / families (in particular wood preservation products).

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the Regulatory lead for assigned biocidal active substances or products. This includes becoming the technical expert and go-to person within the company, championing the development of strategies to optimize market position, preparing and submitting applications for approval as well as offering interpretation / guidance for responding to substance / product challenges or regulatory developments
  • Work with the leadership team to ensure that the EU and GB BPR Active Substance approval & re-approval programmes are actively managed, appropriately prioritised and key goals are met
  • Work with Senior Regulatory Managers to support the Biocidal Product registration programme and ensure alignment with the Active Substance programme
  • Provide effective customer support which is aligned with Business & Regulatory strategy whilst demonstrating a strong sense of commercial orientation
  • Maintain relationships with key regulatory agency officials, standards setting and industry consortium groups as well as proactively monitoring opportunities and threats arising from changes to regulations, guidance and standards
Key Requirements
  • A first degree in Life Sciences or Chemistry. A post graduate qualification is desirable
  • In depth knowledge of the EU Regulatory Affairs framework for Biocidal Products with some knowledge of allied regulations (REACh, CLP, etc.). Experience with the review and approval of active substances would be of particular interest as would experience in authorisation of wood preservation products
  • Analytical and numerate with excellent attention to detail and a strong technical background in chemistry, efficacy, toxicology, ecotoxicology, environmental fate, or risk assessment methodologies
  • Able to grasp new concepts quickly, assimilate / evaluate / summarise large volumes of complex scientific data
  • Demonstrated analytical, planning and prioritisation skills – particularly in a complex matrix environment
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • A naturally collaborative strategic thinker with excellent networking skills who is able to able to negotiate both internally and externally - often at higher levels;
