In the role of a safety engineer, you will be working with a highly motivated cross-functional R&D team, consisting of mechanical, multibody dynamics and software engineers, in order to ensure the development of a cutting edge technology, and building the company’s first industrially certified product. Safety Engineer m/f /d) to join our team

Your responsibilities

  • Delivering safety engineering deliverables in compliance with international standards such EN50126, EN50129 or IEC 61508.

  • Planning and undertaking RAM analysis activities on projects in agreement with the Project Manager

  • Support Project Manager in identifying and tracking safety activities in accordance with RAM V-model

  • Provide safety concepts, including comparative safety design analysis, in order to support decision making.

  • Support the integration and development of safety systems.

  • Collaborate with the test engineers to develop a safety environment to verify the fulfillment of the safety requirements

  • Document safety concept ideas, safety system descriptions, and safety system operation instructions

Desired Competencies

  • Heavy Industry (+10 years),

  • Rail industry safety standards

  • Experience with rail vehicle homologation requirements and processes

  • Experience in industrial products – high voltage systems and motor drive systems

  • Experience in industrial products – sensors, cabling, and data acquisition systems

  • Experience with safety documentation and in managing technical project documentation

  • Familiar in the determination of safety systems, and SIL level calculations

  • Knowledge in developing safety solutions, and in the application and integration of electrical products.

Your qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (BEng / MEng)

  • Qualified with regards to rail industry electronics, signaling and communication (EN50128/EN50129 or IEC 61508).

  • Interdisciplinary knowledge in electronics, software, and mechanics

  • Proficiency English, German is a plus with an ex cellent verbal and written communication skills, with specific ability to write at a professional and technical level for test report documents
