Job Description

The J&J Vision Planning Excellence Manager, is responsible to develop and execute a multi-year strategy to deploy reporting & analytic capabilities, using the established analytic platforms within J&J. This strategy will ensure improvement of analytics maturity via comprehensive deployment of the process standards. They will ensure the Global / Regional plan community has the right and accurate metrics & dashboards to drive the Supply Chain performance.

The Leader will be the point of contact to develop and deploy new metrics / KPI’s and to assure business alignment and adoption of these standards. They will ensure reliable KPI reporting, lead further expansion of analytic platforms, continuously drives capability improvements to turn data into business insights and acts as a gatekeeper for report / dashboard creation.

The leader will work closely aligned with the Enterprise Planning Excellence team, the Digital team and the Vision Planning Excellence Leaders to make sure KPI’s are driving the right business performance. The leader will drive operational efficiencies and initiate transformational projects when needed. They will successfully guide the organization through these changes while ensuring effective execution of the current processes.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy Development:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive analytics platform roadmap and strategy.
  • Participate in process capability assessments providing key insights.
  • Responsible to identify, activate and leverage opportunities across franchises for key SC reporting needs, partnering with IT to develop and deploy.
  • Determine the future technology roadmap and assess opportunities to drive operational efficiencies (ex. consolidation of platforms, adopting new technologies).
  • Establish Governance for new metric development, initiatives and strategies.
  • Oversee benchmarking, evaluation and implementation of best practices to business reporting/analytics capabilities.
  • Partner with IT and other segments to develop business solutions that enhance visualization and virtualization capabilities of the Plan Transformation Program metrics and processes.
Capability development:
  • Business Process Owner for Demand Planning, Supply Network Planning, Production Planning, Inventory, IBP or E2E Planning
  • Link to EPEx and other enterprise functions for proven and emergent capabilities, tools, etc
  • Drive continuous capability improvement in this area. This includes continuous process improvement, benchmarking with internal and external business to identify and implement best practices.
  • Development of analytics solutions for deployment by global process owners.
  • Development of new analytics capabilities (eg. OMP+ reporting).
  • Ensure alignment on TS architecture for consistency in analysis, investigation, implementation and best practice sharing.
Operational effectiveness:
  • Assure analytic platforms are reliable and future proof. Accountable for Timeliness and accuracy of KPI reporting.
  • Single point of contact for reporting, insights, and supporting ad-hoc requests.
  • Perform extensive analytical assessments to describe cause and affect relationships, assess trends, and identify outliers for regional KPI’s.
  • Timely publication of performance dashboards, including business insights towards senior management.
  • Responsible over the platform governance (changes in BU’s, products, definitions, inclusions & exclusions,), sustaining the platform in the future (integration with new systems, BU’s,…) and ensuring alignment with business needs (VOC, developing Tableau views,…).
  • Establish targets for all key planning metrics, aggregating to a Global target and keep up to date on relevant Supply Chain benchmarks and trends.
  • Define / execute strategy for enhancements of current platforms (Tableau, Alteryx, MS Access), existing business intelligence solutions (NOVA, Cognos, HANA), and data models / infrastructure.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree required with preference in Supply Chain, Operations Research, Engineering, Computer Science, Analytics, AI or equivalent/Advanced degree/MBA preferred.
  • Minimum Eight (8) years of relevant experience required. Minimum Five (5) years of Supply Chain experience is preferred
  • PMP, FPX SME, lean/6S Black Belt or equivalent certifications preferred.
  • APICS certification (CPIM, CFPIM or CIRM) preferred. Other certifications in areas of expertise desirable.
  • Experience successfully implementing change across multiple organizations with cross functional stakeholders required.
  • Experience managing and working with a multi-regional and multi-functional team in a highly matrix environment is required.
  • Expert experience with data (acquisition) platforms and visualization (EDG / EDL, Azure, Power BI, SAP HANA, Alteryx, Qlik, Tableau, Phyton, SAS, R, SQL, Teradata) is preferred.
  • Professional experience in Plan/planning systems (OMP+) & ERP systems with a strong understanding of E2E processes preferred.
  • Experience working in the Pharmaceutical, Medical Device or Consumer Products industry preferred.
  • Strong communication and visualization skills with the ability to communicate clearly, making the complex clear and compelling to all levels in the organization.
  • Pro-active, can do attitude. Self-starter with the ability to forge collaboration across all levels within the enterprise.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Project and Access.
