Das Ziel der Position:We are looking for a Junior Software Engineer - Backend to join our team. You are eager to learn new skills and to innovate to help Alpian stay on the leading edge of digital private banking. You should be heavily motivated by both our banking platform and our backend technology stack. The ideal candidate will have some experience with cloud native development, be familiar with Java programming language, and have a good understanding of databases This is a unique opportunity to build Switzerland’s first digital private bank and to rethink how banking is done in 2023 leveraging the latest Cloud technologies.

As a Junior Software Engineer - Backend at Alpian, we expect you to always have high quality in mind, and will be fulfilling our requirements with a focus on security, compliance, performance and reliability. You will actively participate in every aspect of software development and collaborate with frontend engineers and other members of your team.

You have a good sense of code ownership, constantly learning and enhancing your skills and understanding of computer science as a whole. Jobübersicht:

• Develop high-quality and stable software in accordance with company coding standards and best practices
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
• Design robust, scalable, and secure features
• Contribute in all phases of the development life cycle
• Assist senior developers in identifying and resolving defects
• Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review
• Adhere to company guidelines on code reviews, testing, and documentation
• Understand the implications of new code on existing systems and evaluate tradeoffs
• Stay up-to-date on latest industry trends and technical advancements
• Work with the agile mindset and participate actively to the different ceremonials

Erfahrung / Fähigkeiten erforderlich:Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience
• 1-3 years professional experience as a software engineer
• Proficient in Java programming language
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.) and ORMs (Hibernate, ActiveRecord, etc.)
• Experience with unit testing and TDD/BDD methodology
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Professional-level English spoken and written

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

• Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.)
• Experience with microservices architecture
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with SpringBoot or Micronaut
