DPR Construction is seeking a Jr. Project engineer to join our office in Zurich.

The Junior Project Architects/Engineer Works Closely With All Members Of The Project Team And Supports The Project Engineering Function With Responsibility And Accountability For The Following

People management
  • Challenge and support project team
  • Be a point of contact for the design and QA/QC teams’ architects and engineers.
  • Belongs to the project engineering team, supporting the senior project engineers and the design manager.
  • Apply DPR’s people practices and participate in DPR’s project management activities.
Project management
  • Understanding of lean practices and processes
  • Understanding of virtual design and construction practices
  • Ability to identify potential project risk factors including mitigation planning and review with local leadership
  • Capable understanding of modern building processes and methods of working
Planning and project controls
  • Assist with the execution of planning and scheduling of projects
  • Assist with quantified schedule risk analysis
  • Understanding of schedule and cost performance indices
Information Management
  • Issue drawings for construction purpose to construction subcontractors and maintains drawings logs.
  • Maintain request for information log.
  • Maintain submittal log.
  • Prepare and monitor equipment and material logs.
  • Review all subcontractor and vendor shop drawings, product data, samples, manuals, etc. for compliance with contact documents and coordination with all other items of work.
  • Monitor testing and inspection record and reports
Construction Management
  • Evaluation of construction activities.
  • Anticipate and record official notices: Beneficial Occupancy, Substantial Completion, Certificate of Occupancy, Notice of Completion, Warranties/Guarantees

Qualifications

We are looking for a flexible, detail-oriented team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines.

The Successful Candidate Will Possess
  • Excellent listening skills and strong communication skills
  • German and English proficiency
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems.
  • Ability to create and support team morale.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • A strong work ethic and a “can-do” attitude.
  • Pro active and energetic
  • Work permit CH or EU required
