About The Team

We are passionate about connecting buyers and sellers around the world and creating opportunities through commerce and technology. Our responsibilities include all aspects of eBay’s business in the EMEA region including eBay’s operations in major European markets -- UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain -- as well as driving growth in emerging markets such as Turkey.

We are looking for a passionate Junior VAT Specialist to join our office in Bern/Switzerland. You will be part of the EMEA Indirect tax team and will be responsible for and participate in varied and interesting projects.

Your Job Responsibilities
  • Participate in various indirect tax aspects of our EMEA businesses
  • Collaborate and coordinate internally and with various business resources, other tax functions, and external tax advisor
  • Support with VAT compliance
  • Understand intercompany relationships and transactions
  • Assist with indirect tax aspects of new country expansion
  • Willingness to assist with SAP processes dealing with indirect taxes, tax codes, and reporting
  • Assist with developing training material to be deployed to key functions within the business
  • Support with establishing and refining tax policies, processes and system workflows
  • Support the ongoing automation of indirect tax processes including identification, development and testing of technology tools
Your Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Tax, Finance or Accounting; advanced degree is helpful
  • 2+ years in an public accounting firm and/or multinational corporation primarily focused on indirect tax and/or technology
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office tools
  • Desire and passion to work and constantly adapt yourself to the evolving global indirect tax world
  • Of advantage: experience with Alteryx and SAP
  • Focus on accuracy as well as efficiency
  • Good communication skills (oral and written)
  • Great Teammate
  • Interest in technology and process improvement
  • Capable to work independently while acting as part of a global tax team
  • Flexibility and the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new technology and facts
  • Demonstrate good listening, negotiation and problem-resolution skills
  • Proficient in English - other languages useful
