About Our Client

Our client is an international company located in Geneva.

Job Description

The Financial Controller will have various responsibilities including :
  • Communicate effectively and build strong relationships across a wide geography in order to develop financial awareness and ensure confidence in controllership to Geneva management
  • Build effective internal and external partnerships with SSC, global accounting and corporate accounting groups, field offices, affiliates, in order to exchange and implement best practices and align standardization
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies
  • Review and control transactions and submitted closing data before final signature
  • Prepare the Sox control certification
  • Communicate to the Sox process owner the plan of the year and perform review of effectiveness of controls on a regular basis, based on risks identified
  • Liaise effectively with internal and external auditors
  • Proactively identify efficiencies and opportunities to streamline business processes and controls
  • Lead projects as required (implementation of a new system, processes improvements…)
The Successful Applicant

The successful Financial Controller for this position will bring the following background:
  • Strong accounting and financial knowledge, especially US Gaap & Sox
  • Previous audit experience (external or internal)
  • Analytical skills, quick learner and problem solver
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict management skills
  • Strong Communication with an appreciation of cultural diversity
  • Process improvement orientation / search for solution mentality
  • Anticipate, identify issues and drive solutions
  • Willing to take initiatives and new responsibilities
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, respect deadlines
  • Qualified Chartered / Public Accountant or equivalent preferred
  • SAP experience is an advantage
  • Fluent in English written and spoken, French and any other language is an asset
