As a chemistry lab technician, you will be part of the R&D team and you will work closely with all the other teams in this function. The position reports to Program Lead within the R&D team.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts chemical and physical laboratory tests of different types of material, and analyzes test data for variety of purposes, such as research, product development, quality control, and establishing standards, involving experimental, theoretical, or practical application of chemistry and related sciences
  • Sets up laboratory equipment and instrumentation required for tests, research, or process control.
  • Conduct laboratory tests according to equipment specifications and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Develop new laboratory procedures or enhancements to improve test quality and productivity.
  • Generate routine reports on laboratory experiments.
  • Work with other Technicians to complete laboratory tasks within assigned timelines.
  • Identify and troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Follow preventive maintenance procedures and notify maintenance personnel on any equipment repairs and malfunctions.
  • Order and stock laboratory supplies and instruments

    • Qualifications

    ● BSc in Chemistry; analytical chemistry, material science or a related subject

    ● Experience with physicochemical characterization methods

    ● Experience in laboratory experiments and data collection in the field of materials analysis and analytical instrumentation

    ● Experience within the chemical or textile industry or research institute would be of advantage

    ● Excellent computer and software skills in Word and Excel

    ● Good organization and communication skills

    ● Strong ability to work cross-functionally with stakeholders from different backgrounds

    • Fluency in spoken and written English is essential. Communication skills in German are required as well
