Exciting Challenges

In this role you will lead and drive all aspects of sourcing from EMEA into Americas. You ensure the procurement team in the countries achieve the required performance and focus on the effective application of the Sika sourcing methodology for all materials of the category. You manage compliance and ethical standards with applicable laws, and apply the rules of the Sika’s Procurement Manual and Sika Code of Conduct.

You will:
  • Develop and negotiate new (raw) material sources in EMEA for critical materials to Americas region
  • Ensure that the procurement and sourcing process are robustly applied and push the regional team to position themselves to deliver maximum value
  • Work closely with category managers in the United States on quality materials and develop robust supply strategies with sources from the EMEA region
  • Actively establish competitive supply chain options from EMEA sources for key materials purchased within the Americas region
  • Manage interactions between EMEA suppliers, local R&D and procurement to approve new suppliers from EMEA into the Americas region
  • Develop suppliers in EMEA who meet needed quality and supplier performance for the Americas
  • Identify saving opportunities and initiate projects with category managers in America to manage supply chain and associated risks from EMEA
  • Create and track strategic Procurement targets by measuring KPI`s

We Need Your Skills

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry, including a proven track record in a position as category manager, in procurement or similar
  • Demonstrated broad understanding of supply chain management with relevant commodity management experience
  • Strong project management and leadership skills to drive procurement led projects
  • Independent, self motivated person with the skills to encourage collaboration across departments and to build teams
  • Able to travel internationally (approximately 25%)
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written in English), German and any additional languages are an asset
