DiNAQOR Laboratory Technician

DiNAQOR research team is being expanded to develop an increasing portfolio of gene therapy medicines. Currently we are looking for a Laboratory Technician to provide essential support for the ongoing experimental processes of our R&D laboratory in Bio-Technopark, Zurich Schlieren, Switzerland. The successful candidate will be a member of the team that works in an integrated and collaborative manner to ensure the efficient operation of the laboratory and to support in the success of our research group. The individual will provide vital assistance in general lab maintenance, and will be one of the key contacts to coordinate and oversee the smooth running of the research laboratories.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform day-to-day cell culture procedures including maintaining, expanding, differentiating and banking of human iPSC cells
  • Regular (approximately twice per month) contribution to weekend cell culture.
  • Perform variety of cell biology, molecular biology, and biochemical experiments with accuracy and independence
  • Provide support in advanced histology techniques including immunohistochemistry (IHC) and immunofluorescence (IFA)
  • Perform general laboratory care such as autoclaving, dishwashing, preparing stock solutions and inventory laboratory management
  • Prepare reagents including buffers, chemicals solutions, complex reaction mixtures and media according to established methods and standard operating procedures (SOP)
  • Participate in the general maintenance of all equipment and assist in the monitoring and reporting of laboratory equipment conditions
  • Maintain electronic laboratory notebook and inventory system in an accurate manner for tracking work progress, experiments and results
  • Coordinate and collaborate with several research teams and external companies regarding orders and lab maintenance

Qualifications:

  • Research technician diploma or Bachelor’s in biological/life sciences with at least 10+ years of relevant laboratory research experience
  • Extensive experience with cell and tissue culture techniques required ideally with experience in transducing cells with AAV
  • Experience with iPSC line maintenance is an asset
  • Broad experience in classic molecular biology techniques including, DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, RT-qPCR, Western Blot is highly desirable
  • Experience in serological assays to measure antibody responses (e.g. ELISA and neutralization assays) is an asset
  • Working knowledge of computer software and general lab equipment including autoclaves
  • Multi-tasking and self-organizational skills with the ability to work in a team
  • Outstanding command of English, both spoken and written. Knowledge of German would be an asset
