Primary Objective:
Honeywell Aerospace is a $10B+ SBG (Strategic Business Group) with 40,000 employees in over 125 domestic and international locations. We are a leading global aviation supplier designing, manufacturing, and distributing advanced electronic and mechanical systems, products, and services to commercial, defense and space industries.

This position has responsibility for International Defence Customers in the European/NATO country region. In this position you will be primary contact for customers, have overall responsibility for customer relationships, opportunity identification and cultivation, growth, revenue, margin and business execution. Our Defence and Space International team is a key growth engine of the Defence, and Space business and this position is a key growth player on the International Defence Business team in Europe.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Establishes strong relationships with key influencers military operators, Ministries of Defence, and other government agencies that use Honeywell products and services
  • Leads a cross-functional, integrated product team to achieve Annual Operating Plan (including achievement of revenue and profit objectives).
  • Provides customer demand planning inputs, managing military operator customer relationships, identification, development and support of new business capture, and adherence to contract, schedule, cost, regulatory agency, and international trade compliance requirements.
  • Interfaces with cross-functional personnel, including Engineering, Integrated Supply Chain, Contracts/Legal, Program Planning and Control, International Trade Compliance, and Customer and Product Support.
  • Provides leadership of the Customer Core Team (C&PS, Tech Ops, PM) and extended Customer Core Team.
  • Delivers business commitments in accordance with AOP/Strategic Plan, including revenue, operating income and working capital performance.
  • Responsible for long-term objectives such as year-over-year growth, profitability, and win rate, as well as near-term forecast accuracy for Short Range Outlook and demand planning.
  • Identifies opportunities and executes specific plans to improve program performance. Develops and executes detailed action plans, including extensive risk/opportunity analysis, with Engineering, Integrated Supply Chain, and Sales teams for achieving revenue and net investment / operating income targets for the program(s) in this segment.
  • Leads the execution of all engineering, product, and solution delivery programs for Region and is responsible for maintaining good and consistent program performance within budgets and requirements.
  • Responsible for achieving required cost & schedule adherence, scope management, export compliance, and IPDS compliance. Key program performance metrics include EAC fidelity, CPI, SPI, OTTR, A/R, and HMR Milestone Fidelity.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS & INTERSECTION POINTS:

  • Acts as a decision point in support of marketing, selling, pricing, contracting and execution of new business relative to the customer(s) and program(s) in this segment.
  • Initiates the material and engineering resource planning process for programs and customer requirements
  • Acts as an enabler, assists and is an active participant in promoting and implementing Defence & Space growth acceleration initiatives, including those initiatives through Honeywell Aerospace Trading (HAT)
  • Leads the Customer Contract Team to deliver on business objectives and customer commitments.
  • Responsible for overall quarterly Voice Of Customer with the subject customer base for all assigned programs.
  • Must maintain strong relationships with cross-functional counterparts and assigned customers. Required to negotiate with customer in order to effectively manage/grow the business.
  • Must maintain close cooperation with all functional personnel to achieve business objectives and customer commitments including delivery, quality, technical, accounts receivable, ISC & Engineering demand, and capture of new growth opportunities.
  • Must be available to communicate directly and effectively with D&S International Leadership on assigned programs. Must conduct effective liaison with Honeywell regional leadership.

CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS:

  • Develops strong relationships with military operator customers, Tier 1 and Tier 2 Original Equipment Manufacturers of aerospace and defense products and services and thoroughly understands the military operator missions and strategic direction in order to identify opportunities and profitably grow Honeywell’s business with the customer
  • Champions and advocates purposeful change in alignment with the broader organizational goals and direction.
  • Identifies and implements productivity improvements to continuously improve business performance.
  • Establishes a Management Operating System aligned to the business and ensures adherence to it.
  • Contributes to establishing a culture of ownership and accountability throughout the organization.
  • Develops working, reporting, and communication linkages within the team and across D&S management & organization structures, particularly those in region, to facilitate open exchange on opportunities, priorities and business requirements.
  • Escalates issues as appropriate.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree, Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, business or operations preferred
  • 10 years of previous business experience, including but not limited to business management, engineering, sales, operations, finance, contracts, customer support
  • 5 years of experience managing businesses or programs serving military operators in the region

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

The following additional qualifications are preferred:

  • Masters Degree or MBA
  • Previous military operator and government agency business development and program management experience
  • Proven track record of effective military operator customer management and interface, particularly within the Europe/NATO country region.
  • Proficiency in business and financial fundamentals (Profit & Loss analysis, Investment analysis, Balance Sheet, Cost and Pricing Formulation)
  • Experience with military operator and government agency procurement policies and practices
  • Proficiency in military equipment and technical information export/import regulations
  • Proficiency in government policies prohibiting transactions with sanctioned entities
