Your field of responsibility

As Lead Cryptographic Engineer for Sensitive Data Management you join as part of a software engineering team responsible for data anonymization tooling and support within Chief Technology Office (CTO). As a cryptographic engineer, you play a central role in operating and enhancing (Dev/Ops) Credit Suisse specific tooling in the realm of sensitive data discovery, masking, and encryption APIs. Our projects include developing and maintaining data anonymization products, encryption solutions, and platforms for internal customers within Swiss Bank, Finance IT, Wealth Management, Operations IT, and Compliance. In this role, you will help to embed anonymization tooling into the developer toolchain and work closely with the rest of the engineering team to roll out new features to support customer anonymization needs and strategic projects.

Your skills and experience

As a senior cryptographic engineer, you bring the following skills to the team
  • Hold a Bachelor or Master’s degree in computer science
  • Minimum 8 years engineering experience in a geographically distributed organization
  • Experience working directly with customers as Senior Engineer
  • Professional expertise in delivering and operating JAVA-based applications in a modern DevOps workflow and tooling
  • Experience with Spring Batch, Spring Boot, Messaging, relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server) and cloud native data stores
  • Know your way around Unix and are adept at using the Unix shell
  • Fluent in use of modern development tools like Jira, Confluence, Jenkins
  • Have experience using Java crypto libraries (e.g. Bouncy Castle)
  • Comfortable in a complex and fast-paced environment that requires multitasking, moving between development, infrastructure, customer discussions and other tasks
  • Experience in dealing with sensitive data; regulations as well as methods to protect the data (pseudonymization, tokenization, synthetic data, noise injection)
  • Excellent professional communication skills – English is required
