As part of Leonardo, Kopter currently develops the AW09, a next generation single-engine helicopter that offers the largest cabin and cargo hold in its category, increased modularity and modern electronic systems. The AW09 delivers latest safety standards as well as more performance and comfort at low operating costs.

Kopter is set to become Leonardo’s Centre of Excellence for new light helicopters and an incubator of new technologies, contributing to the development of hybrid and electrical propulsion systems. Kopter’s 320 talented team members are primarily based in Switzerland, near Zurich and in Mollis (Canton of Glarus).

Your Responsibilities

►Develops the applicable helicopter usage spectra based on the helicopter usage scope

►Evaluates the service lives and mandatory inspection intervals of principal structural elements and critical parts

►Follows and supports the prototype flight test activities (definition of fatigue monitoring limits, perform fatigue damage tracking, review of flight test data, on-request support for the telemetry room)

►Actively contributes to the definition of fatigue structural tests

►Prepares analysis reports, technical notes and presentations including interpretation of the analysis and test results

►Ensures that the work is conducted by using appropriate aerospace analysis methodologies and in accordance with the applicable regulatory frameworks

Your Qualifications & Experience

►Degree in relevant Engineering discipline (Aeronautical/Mechanical)

►Minimum 5 years of professional experience in aerospace fatigue substantiation of both composites and metals

►Ability to use the applicable FEA tools (e.g. ANSYS, Hypermesh, Optistruct)

►Experience with the applicable regulatory framework (more specifically CS27/29.571 and CS 27/29.573)

►Ability to collaborate actively with all project stakeholders (among others: Flight Test Operations, Design teams, Component Testing Team)

►Ability to work under pressure

►English spoken and written minimum B2 level
