OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE

The Organizational Change Management (OCM) Lead is an experienced professional in the principles of organizational change and adoption strategies, change culture theories, workforce transitions, and employee engagement techniques. They will specifically be responsible for:

  • Leading the establishment and implementation of an effective organizational change management process for the SPMO to leverage on the AGILE and other strategic programs; assessing and improving effectiveness of change management techniques post execution
  • Providing team with support in developing change management plans, communication strategies, and providing verbal and written communications support
  • Ensuring SPMO change strategies and supporting activities remain aligned to overarching program plans and embed stakeholder-specific messaging to maximize adoption and minimize resistance
  • Creating and sharing relevant information, announcements, and communications on the SPMO communication platforms (SharePoint, Yammer); recommending best change management practices and communication material to network to equip teams with expertise

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Designing and Applying a structured methodology, process, and tools for change management to create a strategy to support adoption of the changes required by a project or initiative.
  • Completing stakeholder impact analysis and change readiness assessments to understand potential barriers to change; identify risks and implement mitigation plans
  • Providing change management support services to program managers, to include leading establishment of associated change and engagement events or roadshows and drafting communication materials with key stakeholders
  • Establishing and facilitating implementation of change management best practices to include establishing processes, creating and sharing templates, and facilitating workshops
  • Ensuring all change documentation is current, complete, stored and shared in a way that is consistent with the SPMO standards
  • Supporting the design, development, delivery and management of SPMO team communications
  • CHANGE MGT: Process Owner for Change Mgt Process; lead stakeholder & impact analyses and define / deconflict respective change activities
  • ENGAGEMENT FORUMS: Lead forums and outreach activities to maximize awareness, adoption, & engagement
  • COMMUNICATIONS: Write stakeholder-specific messages and program-level publications
  • CAPABILITY BUILDING / TRAINING: Build training strategies, outline curriculum / learning objectives, & facilitate trainings

STAKEHOLDER FEEDBACK: Establish people-related KPIs and mechanism to collect / evaluate; for example: awareness & understanding of change (infiltration), adoption (speed, utilization), engagement (buy-in), satisfaction (Pulse Surveys, Voice of Customer), mindsets (observations of behavioural changes), participation (Training attendance), impact of messages shared (communication effectiveness)

  • Experience with rapid, large-scale organizational change efforts and stakeholder management with knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools
  • Acute business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges and understanding of how people go through a change and the change process

  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle

  • Act as an advisor to PM staff, coaching on change management approaches, methods, tools and techniques

  • Ability to build relationships and influence, and drive organizational engagement
  • Able to lead colleagues through influence at, below, and above peer level in both sites and functions

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

Education / experience

(Required)

  • Minimum of a four year Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Organizational Development, Organizational Psychology, life sciences, business or engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 6+ years’ increasingly complex experience in project management, organizational development, or as a change practitioner, including 2+ years as a lead role on a large scale organizational change programs/initiatives such as a technology implementation, integration, process redesign, or restructuring.

(Preferred)

  • Change management certification or similar designation
  • Advanced degree (preferably in business, project management, human resources, organizational behavior, or science; e.g. MBA, MS)
  • Management Consulting or Biotechnology / pharmaceutical industry experience desirable

Core Competencies / Skills

  • Solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process.
  • Strong foundation in project and stakeholder management with the ability to deliver high-quality deliverables on time that are appropriate for review by senior management
  • Well versed in building custom change strategies and communications for large organizations; able to simplify complex problems and propose solutions both in writing and orally
  • Demonstrated track record of success with directly managing and delivering transformational projects and engaging and influencing peers to adopt new business processes and best-known-methods across a diverse, global organization.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, executive-level messaging and presentation skills including the ability to interact with management
  • Proficient in the application of appropriate communication and tracking tools (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
