As part of Corporate Solutions’ Credit & Surety (C&S) team, you will support the C&S team in the structuring and execution of non-standard solutions for clients, reporting to the Head Credit & Surety. Products include portfolio transactions, funded structures and capital management solutions.


About the role



You will be responsible for managing a team of underwriters and delivering portfolio solutions and non-standard capabilities to clients and brokers. Apart from this you will:

  • Generate and maintain a strong deal pipeline aimed at growing economic profit for Corporate Solutions while remaining within the boundaries of our risk appetite.
  • Structuring solutions, developing the due diligence process, building excel models, evaluating structures and leading the development of legal documentation.
  • Prepare underwriting Memos to detail the underwriting thought process.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accounting, tax and legal requirements and adherence to Group Guidelines to minimize reputational risk.
  • Build and entertain relationships with key internal external partners to ensure that we are known as a consistent and reliable partner.

About you


Professional Experience

  • Corporate Finance background with minimum of 10 years of credit structuring and/or underwriting experience in a financial institution.
  • Broad asset class/industry knowledge and expertise in underwriting sophisticated transactions.
  • Strong execution attitude and proven record in bringing large transactions across the "finish-line".

Technical Skills

  • Outstanding credit risk assessment capabilities.
  • Solid background in structuring transactions, credit risk modelling and costing (single risk and portfolio)
  • Experience in negotiating legal agreements

Leadership Skills

We are seeking a strong teammate with an entrepreneurial approach and a passion for delivering solutions to clients. You should have strong networking skills and demeanor for working in an international and multi-cultural team environment. Excellent presentation and social skills are a must.

You will lead cross-functional teams (underwriters, actuaries, legal, risk managers) and lead the end-to-end execution of transaction opportunities, while at the same time collaborating with colleagues in various functions to develop portfolio costing capabilities.


Additional Experience:

  • Masters in corporate finance or mathematics, or equivalent education. Actuarial/statistics degree advantageous.
  • Finance background ("CFA" level) preferred
  • Proficiency in English required and good command of at least one other language preferred.
