Legal Counsel Antitrust

The Senior Legal Counsel Antitrust is a member of the ABB Antitrust Center of Expertise that has a key role in enabling the ABB Group to act globally in compliance with antitrust law. As part of this role, the Senior Legal Counsel Antitrust will work with the Head and the other members of the Antitrust Legal Center of Expertise in supporting the Antitrust Legal Center of Expertise This position report to the Group Function Head - Legal & Integrity

Your responsibilities

  • Enabling M&A activity of the ABB Group through leading analysis of antitrust issues, identifying potential solutions and obtaining the requisite clearances from antitrust regulators
  • Delivering face-to-face training to ABB Group employees, including Senior Management, on general antitrust compliance as well as targeted specialist training on specific topics
  • Providing fit-for-purpose, antitrust advice, including to Senior Management and L&I, on a variety of complex issues to enable the ABB Group and its Business Areas to act in compliance with antitrust law in day-to-day operations and achieve the desired business goals
  • Collaborating effectively with and fostering collaboration amongst the various ABB Business Areas and stakeholders
  • Resolving follow-on damage claims lodged by ABB’s direct and indirect customers in collaboration with ABB’s Chief Litigation Officer
  • Helping to maintain and improve ABB’s relationship with antitrust regulators and other stakeholders such as ABB customers worldwide
  • Assisting Head of Antitrust in overseeing administrative and financial aspects (e.g., billing)

Your background

  • At least 6 years of experience as an antitrust lawyer with both in-house and law firm and experience allowing for a broad understanding of issues arising from other areas (legal, finance, tax etc.)
  • Superior skill level (deep knowledge and understanding of antitrust law and policy)
  • Excellent communication & negotiation skills, combined with ability to work at an executive level
  • Is able to combine legal analysis with economic assessment (a truly business minded approach) and strong organizational and priority management skills
  • The Job Holder has experience working internationally and speaks excellent English
