On behalf of our client, a sucessful, European Commodity Trading house, headquartered in Zug with subsidiaries worldwide, we are looking for a

Legal Counsel

The Legal Department plays a pivotal role in providing the Company with effective and comprehensive legal advice on business issues and strategies. This covers everything from providing legal input and advice on any kind of issues connected to the trading activities of the company and for corporate advise services.

This includes:
  • creating trading contract wording together with contract department
  • developing contracts for new traded products in regulation with regulatory requirement for EU import
  • advise on tender management for traders
  • advise and drafting storage contracts and associated documentation
  • Working actively together with Trade Finance on LCs and SBLCs, payment and performance guarantees
  • compliance management
  • negotiation with third parties
  • provide legal advice in all commercial areas
  • design of various company policies
Our profile:
  • Masters degree in law, preferably LLM in international business
  • 5 - 10 years of relevant work experience within commodity trading industry
  • sound experience in trade contract law
  • experience in working together with Operations / Chartering (maritime law)
  • Sound project management experience and strong conceptual and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written command of business and legal English
  • Accurate and efficient working style
  • Self-confident and an ability to take the initiative and work independently
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and comfortable dealing with change and ambiguity
