We are looking to strengthen our support to the Supply part of our business, with focus on Food, by recruiting a talented Legal Counsel who has a business minded approach. You will support to review, maintain and sustain the legal aspects of the businesses and operations in a global Supply dimension in order to secure the rights and assess the obligations with a goal to maintain a balance between business opportunities and legal risks.

In this role with a focus on the food organisation you will:

• Assist in day-to-day legal matters related to global Purchasing, Logistics and Whole-sale.
• Draft agreements to enable successful collaborations and support negotiations.
• Identify impact of developments in legislation and communicate this to the relevant stakeholders and determine which actions need to be taken.
• Identify legal consequences of business changes, advise the management of such consequences and suggest relevant actions to be taken.
• Provide advice to relevant stakeholders on opportunities to reduce exposure to risks and optimize opportunities.
• Prepare and conduct training for relevant stakeholders in laws and regulations, corporate structures, decision making and managerial responsibility and standard agreements

Qualifications

• In depth knowledge in the food legal area and proven experience from working with this in a global organization (plus 5 years’ experience as an in-house legal counsel or lawyer)
• Solid understanding of legal systems (or have the ability to acquire) in countries where Inter IKEA Group conducts business and have operations
• Curiosity to find more effective ways of working and passionate about using knowledge to drive the business in order to optimise our performance
• Desire to improve your competence and using it to support the IKEA growth, at the same time growing as an individual
• Excellent leadership capabilities - being able to communicate and co-operate with dif-ferent people/companies simultaneously and steer the process to reach the assessed goals
• Success in building trustful relations in multicultural environments and high level of integrity
• Driven team player who can work independently as well
• Pragmatic, solution-oriented approach, hands-on mentality and cost-consciousness
• Ability to share specialist knowledge with others in an easy and uncomplicated way
• Proficiency in English, any other language is an asset
