Job Description

We are looking for a Legal Operations Officer to join our Legal Team based in Geneva, which provides legal support to Trading & Shipping (T&S)and Gas & Power divisions (TGP) at TotalEnergies.

What you will do:

As Legal Operations Officer, you will be supporting the Legal Team in identifying, analysing and implementing efficient solutions to improve tools and processes. You will be designing and implementing new tools or new processes aimed at the constant improvement of the Department.

Your missions would typically include the following:

1/ Identify business needs
  • Gather Legal team’s needs, identify and analyse development areas to gain efficiency
  • Define solutions to address the needs

2/ Design Solutions
  • Liaise with the IT team on identifying, implementing, integrating and optimizing applications and tools
  • Manage the strategic design and hands-on development of tools and processes
  • Lead projects across all departments involved (IT, Compliance, Contracts)

3/ Implement Tools & Processes
  • Maintain and continue to develop various tools for legal teams (Self Service tools / Knowledge Management / Automation of certain tasks / centralized document database)
  • Drive the adoption of the tools and processes deployed through regular trainings, reportings and communication
  • Promote knowledge of existing digital applications, their optimal use, best practices, all in compliance with procedures.

Context and environment

You will evolve in an international, fast-paced and dynamic trading environment. This transversal role will be working across all divisions of the Legal Team worldwide to increase efficiency in tools and processes. Interface between Legal division, IT operations and professions to coordinate several projects simultaneously.

Candidate profile

  • Ideally previous experience in Legal Operations or experience of 3-5 years in a legal function with a strong appetence for IT/digital projects.
  • Experience in project management and/or change management are very strong assets.
  • Ability to understand and synthesize legal business needs and translate them in concrete solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to adopt a variety of team building and communication approaches to achieve desired results.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to see the next step and follow through on operational details.
  • Ability to work creatively to achieve identified goals. Demonstrate the ability to build consensus with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, in English and French, with the ability to apply these skills at all levels of the organization.
