We have built the API Cluster including four MAKE sites with harmonized goals: Athens Georgia (US), Geel (Belgium), Schaffhausen SM (Switzerland) and Cork (Ireland). We are now recruiting a Cluster Engineering Lead for the Manufacturing Technology Engineering Team.

We are now recruiting for a Manufacturing Technology Engineering Lead, this is an exciting role which has a large degree of scope and autonomy to deliver technology solutions to positively impact human health by improving the first manufacturing step in changing patients lives for the better. The Manufacturing Technology Engineering Lead is a member of the API Small Molecule Manufacturing Asset Management Cluster engineering leadership Team. The Manufacturing Technology Team has overall accountability for driving opportunity definition, business case development, design and selection of engineering alternatives for sophisticated production and processing equipment, scouting and piloting of new technologies, transfer of knowledge to the project engineer and for providing engineering support as an SME for complex operational issues. The team also has responsibility for NPI launch capabilities from an equipment engineering point of view across the SM API Cluster of Business Units in Geel, Belgium, Cork Ireland, Athens Georgia USA and Schaffhausen Switzerland. This role has a large degree of scope and autonomy to deliver innovative technology solutions to improve human health by improving the first manufacturing step in changing patients lives for the better.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing talent through coaching and mentoring
  • Identification and evaluation of new process technologies for development (DPDS) or commercial (JSC) production
  • Introduction of new technology platforms in DPDS or JSC
  • Identification of opportunities to increase process efficiency by technological modifications / innovation and process optimization
  • Supervise study projects in development and commercial production
  • Sponsor of international and cross JSC/DPDS specialist teams to drive technological solutions and vision
  • Provide recommendations to strategic Capital Master Plan and Long-Range Financial Plan regarding new technology introductions & NPI’s.
  • Collaborates with Technical Operations and DPDS to drive improved manufacturing capabilities as well as new modalities
  • Ensures available capital spent wisely on technology projects that deliver the best business benefit across the cluster.

Education

Qualifications

Required : Engineering Degree

Preferred : Masters level Engineering degree
