About the team you are joining

Reporting to the “Senior Manager, Cloud Engineering”, The Manager, Cloud Engineering will primarily be responsible of ongoing IATA AWS Cloud Architecture, Operations and management of the vendors that are running AWS infrastructure on behalf of IATA. The incumbent will also be responsible of maintaining and updating the Unified Infrastructure standards.

What your day would be like

• Day to day running of IATA AWS and On-Premise infrastructures;
• Management of Rackspace managed services team for ongoing operations in IATA AWS accounts.
• Lead the daily scrum meetings with the Rackspace in order to organize their work for the week.
• Management of 3rd party vendors that are running AWS infra for IATA. The management will involve scheduled audits to ensure the vendors are following IATA standards and maintaining the agreed SLAs
• Participate and assist in the internal AWS cross charging process.
• Monitor and tune AWS performance;
• Work on cloud engineering issues and tickets in IATA ITSM tool;
• Troubleshoot OS and application problems;
• Participate in projects and RFPs that require AWS Architecture, Hosting or general operational needs.
• Participate in planning, implementation, and growth of the infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS);
• Manage the relationship with Application Support Teams, which includes external vendors, wuth new application onboarding and daily operations
• Work with the larger engineer team to develop cloud ready architectures;
• Manage full application stacks from the OS through custom applications using Amazon cloud-based computing environments;
• Maintain IATA’s existing AD infrastructure including Azure AD
• Maintain IATA’s existing DNS infrastructure.
• Implement and maintain automation tools across ITS focusing on AWS which include Terraform, Argo and etc.
• Work closely with the engineers to design networks, systems, and storage environment that effectively reflect business needs, security requirements, and service level requirements;
• Manage a continuous integration/continuous deployment methodology for the server-based technologies;
• Work with engineering and architecture teams to design and implement scalable software services;
• Take ownership and resolve cloud engineering issues and tickets in IATA ITSM tool;
• Follow all best practices and procedures as established by IATA as part of the Unified Infrastructure..
  

We would love to hear from you if

• BS in Computer Science, IT, IS, or equivalent area of technical study (IT experience can substitute for a BS degree);
• Certification on AWS Platform (Solutions Architect Associate or SysOps Administrator Associate or equivalent);
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with Amazon Web Services, Operations and Architecture;
• Experience in designing and building environments on AWS, including services such as EC2, S3, ELB, RDS, Kubernetes etc.;
• Experience in DevOps tools such as Atlassian, Bitbucket, Azure DevOPS, etc.;
• Experience to create and utilize AWS Cloud Formation or terraform templates to automate creation of AWS environments;
• Experience in Windows and Linux operating system environments;
• Experience in scripting with PowerShell, Python, etc.;
• Skill and ability to train others on technical and procedural topics;
