Johnson & Johnson is currently recruiting for a Manager, JSC Procurement Biologics Category. This position will be located on-site with a primary location of Titusville, NJ with other possible alternate locations (Zug, Cork, Leiden, or Beerse).

Procurement is a key enabler in driving and supporting Johnson & Johnson’s growth. Being a part of the procurement organization, the incumbent in this role will be driving and/or supporting all aspects of spend performance such as reliability, innovation, cost, supply network readiness, and corporate citizenship goals while collaborating with the wider procurement and supply chain community. This role will support the Media & Resins subcategories as part of the Janssen Biologics category.

Key Responsibilities

Sourcing
  • Lead or support sourcing initiatives to identify the right supplier partners and build adequate material capacities to support the business
  • Develop spend analysis and gather market intelligence in alignment with business goals
  • Influence business decision making to deliver ongoing value improvements and drive competitive advantage

Category Strategy Development
  • Develop and/or support the category sourcing strategy for the defined portfolio through Business needs assessment, Market intelligence, Supplier evaluations and sourcing choices
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the business needs and external market trends to support the development of robust sub- category strategies.
  • Proactively engage business partners and/or category managers to identify their needs and incorporate those needs into sub-category strategies.
  • Develop and drive robust implementation of the strategy and communication plan with defined buying channels and contracting strategies.
  • Establish compliance reporting capabilities and track business compliance to strategies

Supplier Management
  • Develop and manage supplier partnerships / external manufacturing partnerships to drive performance delivery, risk mitigation, and value through supplier enabled innovation
  • Cultivate and use strategic relationships with key business partners (e.g. Internal partners, supplier leadership, SRM/category leaders) to shape, optimize, and diversify the supply base.
  • Develop innovative and sustainable solutions to identify and mitigate risk, drive long-term, end-to-end value, and achieve unmet business needs. Identify and pursue opportunities to develop supplier capabilities.

Contracting
  • Mitigate business risk through the understanding of commercial, legal and regulatory requirements and through the use of efficient contracting channels demonstrating standard processes and technology.
  • Use procurement expertise and global business understanding to monitor the negotiation and execution of contracts
  • Ensure that agreements and the manner they are performed meet business demands of all collaborators, and are aligned with the organization’s overall procurement and business strategy

Agile Project Support
  • Lead, support, or engage as a procurement expert in the projects ranging from contracting, supply reliability, innovation and new product development
  • Act as a procurement expert in support to cross material category specific or cross category initiatives (may include Chemicals, Biologics, API, EM, Packaging)
  • Represent procurement in End-to-End supply chain initiatives of the manufacturing network, digital tools/ technology adoption, and resiliency

Education

Qualifications
  • A minimum of bachelor’s degree, preferably complemented by an MBA or a Master’s qualification

Required

Experience and Skills:
  • A minimum of 6 years of related work experience
  • Demonstrated skills in Strategic Procurement, Sourcing, Category and Supplier Management, preferably in the Supply Chain Environment
  • Strong partner management skills working with cross category, supply chain, and other functional partners.
  • Strong business and finance competence, deep understanding of managing for impact in complex matrix environment
  • Proven / demonstrated ability to influence, partner on & shape projects with / without direct team / authority.
  • Ability to engage, interact and negotiate value enhancing relationships with suppliers
  • Experience in a complex stakeholder environment where strong influencing skills are needed; understanding of complexities of Regulated industries
  • Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to respond to changes in the external environment while ensuring the organization can effectively and efficiently move through transitions

Preferred
  • Pharmaceutical supply chain background
  • Knowledge of external manufacturing and partner management

Other
  • This position may require up to 10% travel.
