Within Operations function - Product Portfolio Management & Deployment (PPMD) is at the center of a powerful triangle of deep consumer connection, product innovation and project management excellence.

For our Packaging team within Lausanne, Switzerland, we are looking for a Manager Packaging Portfolio Strategy eVapour Category.

In this role you will lead the packaging portfolio for our Vaping category; collaborating with and accountable for the Packaging COE to senior category stakeholders and partners to shape, align and intake project briefs against product, consumer, operational and compliance requirements for the consumable & electronics device ecosystems.

This role spans the entire value chain for the category packaging, being responsible for central program achievements and priorities, setting strategic objectives for the Packaging COE and coordinating key innovation, sustainability and portfolio optimization activities. You will work in a dynamic PBO team environment with both internal and external partners and applying functional expertise in developing value enabled solutions to deliver the category master plan.

Key tasks include but are not limited to
  • Direct the strategic intake (scope / brief) alignment, define strategic Key Performance Indicators and apply technical expertise, intuition for business and project based organizational principles to ensure priorities are aligned between the partners to translate plans into services delivered according to specifications and timelines.
  • Accountable for departmental alignment to key customers and partner strategic priorities; anticipating consumer strategy, quality, sustainability, cost-effectiveness, and compliance of the packaging portfolio to maintain PMI’s competitive advantage in line with customer needs, Ops OGSM (Objectives Goals Strategies and Measures) and PMI’s SPs (Strategic Priorities).
  • Accountable to oversee, direct and drive complex and strategic departmental workflows and achievements and monitor / report responsiveness to key customers and partners and ensure on time in full result’s delivery to performance measures aligned within project teams; provide accurate and timely information to ensure scope change or KPI is highlighted and validated through governance processes.
  • Create, sustain, and enable an innovative and consumer centric culture with all partners, and suppliers. Conduct NPS (Net Promoter Score) learning cycles to assess departmental performance and ask for / provide constructive feedback on a regular basis to measure effectiveness.
  • Analyze processes and project results to optimize and enhance service quality and play a leadership role in the packaging stream continuous improvement efforts. Stay ahead of consumer, technology and competitive insights and industrial developments and facilitate the technical program in line with key strategic goals.
  • Add to long term business and departmental organizational sustainability, including performance/advancement/succession planning and strategic objective setting Support organizational development, referring to feedback to measure success.
  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of technical professionals in the function and facilitate a working environment that supports high motivation and high individual performance across teams. Set clear objectives and measure results for direct reports. Encouraging 360 feedback on a regular basis.
  • Carry out all the team’s activities ensuring that PMI Compliance Policies, standards, and laws relating to these activities are fully respected, integrated and understood by partners, and implement adequate processes to ensure the safe guarding of information of a confidential nature.
We’re looking for someone with
  • University degree or equivalent in a scientific/ technical area (e.g., Packaging, engineering, product development).
  • Extensive experience in a related area and proven People Leadership, Management & Communication skills.
  • Generic knowledge and experience on the main packaging knowledge area. Breadth on main packaging domains related to business area.
  • English – fluent
  • PC Skills, MS office, Project management tools, PLM/PDIMS
