As a member of the Janssen Vaccines Transportation Task Force operations team, the Manager is responsible for flawless operational execution of vaccine transport lanes; managed door-door. The Manager has oversight of the operational team, day to day operational issue management, crisis-management, risk mitigation, transportation/logistics coordination, and project management with freight forwarders, shipping sites, and supply planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Lane readiness for the COVID 19 vaccine and other products as needed. Collaborate with transportation providers, trade compliance, distribution, sites, global security, temperature control, planning, and customer service to successfully execute transportation lane readiness.
• Lead door-door operational management for Johnson & Johnson vaccine shipments, ensuring consistent product availability and highest levels of customer experience.
• Lead process improvement projects demonstrating PM methodologies like Six Sigma, FPX, etc., to drive reliability and/or cost efficiencies for inter-regional vaccine movements.
• Effectively run the coordination, track & trace, and exception management for urgent shipments related to the vaccine
• Present performance metrics and project charters/updates to various levels of management.
• Lead/participate in operational vendor management meetings (business reviews, reporting on operational vendor performance) and lead day to day tactical relationship with the vendors.
• Partner with J&J Deliver Quality to ensure that transport operations is handled within the appropriate quality framework.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for sites and logistics providers to communicate issues affecting shipment flows, including but not limited to missing documentation, freight delays, quality events, and shipping receiving delays.
• Perform ad-hoc operational analytics to drive day to day business efficiencies.
• Lead operational activities to support global bids for various inter-region transport moves; including requirements, baseline validation, and lane implementation to pre-established metrics.
• Provide support for event management in other geographical regions based on criticality of issues.
• Decision-making and leadership consistently in line with J&J Credo and HR policies.
  
  

Education

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (or University equivalent) is required; MBA or advanced degree in Business, Transportation, and/or Supply Chain preferred
  
  

Required

Experience and Skills:

• Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience
• Knowledge of import/export process
• Supply chain/ Operations experience
• Sourcing experience
• Project Management experience is a must
• Able to influence without authority
• Solid problem solving and analytical experience
• Microsoft Office proficiency, specifically with Excel
