The Manufacturing Engineer - Industrialization is responsible for structures production support. The successful individual in this role is a creative, solutions-oriented engineer that takes ownership of manufacturing processes to drive world class Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery performance into the business

Your Responsibilities
  • Provide daily support to manufacturing operations and related support teams in order to assure technically correct manufacturing and product flow; incl. tracking of OEE, process capability CpK, OTD, production costs and proactive improvements of various KPIs
  • Define the details of manufacturing for composite structures and optimize existing processes utilizing lean manufacturing principles, based on the basics defined by M&P and System Engineering
  • Assure VSM methods are applied, DfM and DtC activities are executed, organize that suitable tooling and equipment is available as needed
  • Work cross-functionally with operations, quality, design engineering, and other teams to define manufacturing work instructions, equipment, tools, materials, and training
  • Utilize project management techniques / tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements
  • Play key role in the non-conformance process and secure measures for root cause analyses, corrective and preventive measures
  • Support continuous improvements in all concerned manufacturing processes to deliver inline with customer quality, cost, and demand requirements
  • Establish and provide the necessary documentation for strategic operations programs as well as for customer programs, support and participate in project reviews as necessary
  • Support in close cooperation with Industrialization Manager the evaluation of infrastructure and equipment investments, establish technical and business case documentation and take leading role in their implementation through procurement, installation, verification/validation until transition into daily operation
  • Proactively support and coach the production technicians through frontline support utilizing an integrated project team approach; provide training material (both software and hardware) as needed
  • Establish standard work practices across manufacturing and eliminate waste to increase productivity
  • Develop and verify new jigs, tooling, equipment, parts, and processes to meet requirements
  • Co-work in the Bidding team for quotations, concept work and developments, interdisciplinary collaboration in make-or-buy decisions
  • Provide cost and schedule support with expert RC cost and schedule estimates, NRC cost and schedule estimates, support LLI activities together with NRC and RC project teams as well as production operations and production control teams
  • Actively participate in the change management process as it relates to your respective manufacturing process, driving and implementing process / design changes, support improvement of business processes
  • Work with international colleagues in order to evaluate, improve, and transfer latest state processes and maintain standardization across the company portfolio
Your Profile
  • B.S. degree or similar experience in a related (engineering) field with extensive relevant experience
  • Demonstrates insight into quality and safety standards including AS9100 and OSHA or similar
  • Previously worked with composite, metallic, and non-metallic materials
  • 2+ years of previous hands-on Engineering experience in a more complex manufacturing setting are a plus
  • Space or Aerospace experience and Production line leadership experience would be an asset
  • Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma knowledge/experience; experience with SAP or other ERP, MS Office would be an advantage
  • Experience with MES, CAD and other relevant complex software is a plus

  • Outstanding communication and teamwork ability
  • High stress resistance and perseverance, able to assure a structured approach in a complex environment
  • Excellent English language skills are a must. Basic German and Swedish are a plus
