For our office in Zurich we are looking for a

Market and Business Intelligence Analyst

Responsibilities

Data Management
  • Read, screen, analyze raw data coming from various sources on a day to day basis, either quantitative data (flows statistics, customs statistics, port statistics, …) or qualitative
  • Conduct relevant research using various sources, from electronic database, websites, and other published sources, using sophisticated search engines, query tools, and other web technologies
  • Set up/maintain/improve our commodities databases, statistics and related news
  • Suggest and implement new ideas to make the data management more efficient
  • Suggest and contribute to automations of data processing and management
Information Sources
  • Propose new sources of information and ways of improving the data gathering and data processing
  • Provide input as far as regard new sources to be developed to complement the overall monitoring
Processes and Information Systems
  • Improve data collection, processing and management processes
  • Define new specifications of the BI tools used by the team to improve day-to-day activity
  • Support the implementation of new digital data management and reporting tools
Reporting and Analysis
  • Support Business Intelligence network in qualitative and quantitative knowledge sharing
  • Take to lead in interface Traders and Holcim Country representative for the cross-check and validation of data
  • Ensure data on flows consistency before any communication towards the stakeholders
  • Identify, format and send “Alerts” within the company when an information is considered as having an important / strategic impact on the trading business or on Holcim country
  • Work closely with Traders and Head of Regions to identify and analyze market trends
  • Prepare market presentations and share within the organization
  • Produce reports on countries, competitors and other projects
  • Produce ad hoc reports for internal customers based on publicly available information or information previously gathered
Education/Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in related subject

Experience

2-4 years of relevant experience. Previous experience in seaborne logistics and data warehouse will be a definite plus

Knowledge & Skills
  • A strong mastery of Excel (Pivot table, Macros, Vlookup formulas ...). Mastery of PowerPoint
  • Excellent skills in Database tools and other applications for statistical analysis
  • Familiar with web technologies, business analytics tools (i.e. Qlikview, Power BI) a benefit
  • Knowledge of R / Python would be a plus
  • Business culture, curiosity and "investigation"
  • Challenge of the status-quo mindset
  • Attention to details
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to strategic thinking
  • Autonomy in priority setting but team spirit and ready to share knowledge
  • Result and progress oriented, capacity to work under short notice
  • Capacity to work cross cultural borders where stakeholders reside in multi locations, at different level within the organization
  • Capacity to mobilize resources not directly under his/her management
Language Requirements: English very good verbal and written knowledge, French / Spanish is a plus Local / International: Local Employment
