Materials Manager


Main tasks & responsibilities:

  • Planning and on time purchasing of strategic and nonstrategic raw materials, intermediates and packaging materials for the production plants
  • Coordination of rough cut production planning and coordination of the detailed production scheduling on site
  • Exception based management of Supply Chain issues and Point of Contact for Bayer affiliates and suppliers
  • Steer the Export Order Management Process (EOMP) via the Triangulation model
  • Execute the complete EOMP from order entry until billing including order confirmation, change management and order tracking
  • Monitoring and achievement of Supply Chain Key Performance Indicators (e.g. inventory levels, OTIF, schedule attainment and customer service level)
  • Organization of the physical material flow to the site, within the site and distribution of products
  • Steer utilization of local warehouses and infrastructure while controlling and optimization of site inventory levels, steer and perform annual stock-take

Job Requirements:

  • University degree in Business Administration with specialization in Logistics or Supply Chain Management
  • Min. 5 year of supply chain experience in the chemical or process/manufacturing industry
  • Detailed expertise of SAP R3 (SD / MM / PP/ TM3 Module), Microsoft Office and other software package
  • Excellent knowledge of core SCM processes including planning, purchasing and international logistics
  • Knowledge of legal requirements for transportation and storage of dangerous goods
  • Good problem-solving, ability to address and quickly resolve complex situations and set clear priorities, communication and leadership skills, acute sense of urgency and ability to make critical decisions independently
  • Business focus and strong sense of cost efficiency in all processes
  • Fluent in both English and German, any other languages is an advantage
