At Covance Geneva we are looking to recruit a Medical Technologist I in Genomics to join our expanding team for a 1 year contract.

Job Responsibilities Include
  • Support to Laboratory Operations in Oncology biomarkers, Human Genomics and Molecular Virology by performing assigned clinical laboratory testing accurately and in a timely manner.Properly handle specimens and independently resolve technical specimen issues in preparation for analysis and specimen storage. Perform routine testing and calculations as required
  • Ensuring maintenance of instruments and equipment is performed according to manufacturer and Covance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) requirements, and documented according to SOPs.
  • Ensuring the validity of tests results through the performance of established quality assurance and quality control proceduresPrepare proper documentation of test results and enter into the information system.Generate an appropriate audit trail for all activities. Document and communicate any result reporting problems or inconsistencies to laboratory management.
  • Complying with regulatory guidelines and SOPs at all times and adhering to established Safety policies and Universal precaution guidelines at all times
  • Coordinating, where needed, with other resources to resolve issues and perform basic troubleshooting.

Education/Qualifications
  • Medical Technologist (CFC, Swiss State School of Medical Technologist Degree, BTS, DUT, IUT Degree holder…)
Experience
  • At least 2-3 years’ Experience of Medical Technologist in molecular diagnostics or related fields with hands-on experience in molecular biology: DNA/RNA extraction methods, real-time PCR, sequencing, gene expression, fragment analysis…
  • Good computer skills and knowledge of MS office tools.
  • Fluent in French, good knowledge in English is a plus.
