Our Infrastructure Architects are responsible for keeping up with the latest and greatest of these changes and using their expertise to deliver solutions that meet the needs of our customers and products.

Your Role and Responsibilities
The Network Architect SDN is responsible for analysing & translating business & technical information to design into an architectural NW blueprint for solutions to achieve complex business objectives for IBM external / internal customer projects. The NW Architect SDN works closely with sales, engagement & consulting teams in defining technical specification requirements, designing & developing optimized & innovative NW SDN solution. He works towards & guarantees with his deliverables also a seamless & efficient handover of the solution to clients / IBM’s NW operations teams. In the proposed solutions, a maximum of Cloud service, SDN NW integrations & automated tasks are focused.
  • Develop architecture roadmaps & designs, implementation approach & project plans for SDN NW solutions, mainly focused on Cisco,
  • Provide guideline & best practice on sharing the NW (SDN) architecture models & solutions results to the business but also technical audience,
  • Work with functional & technical teams to understand business & technical requirements & priorities,
  • Create architecture & technical design documents to communicate the focused NW SDN solutions that will be implemented by the related SME’s,
  • Develop SDN proofs-of-concept (POC’s) / prototypes to help illustrate chosen approaches,
  • Educate (coach/mentor) organisations on the SDN NW available & emerging innovation technologies, tool sets and trends,
  • Present the solutions & options to leadership teams, project teams, & other stakeholders (Clients & IBM internal),
  • As trusted advisor you will consultant customers in defining best fitting NW (SDN) strategy &roadmaps,
  • Act as SME with IBM’s key NW technologies alliance partners to develop best solutions.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Cisco CCIE R&S Certification (Overall), CCNP security,
Experience in NW operating system (Cisco IOS, JUNOS, ...),
Experience in developing & deploying SDN solutions, focused on Cisco’s APIC ACI,
Experience in programming automation / orchestration (Python),
Experience next generation FW’s (Cisco Fortigate, ...) & in LoadBalancer (F5, Netscaler, ...),
Experience with Cloud solutions like IBM, AWS and/or Azure,
Language skills: Proficient in English, German.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Experience in VMware / NSX,
Experience in NW Operations, NW Monitoring & NW diagnostics,
Experience in Agile working methods & tools.
