The Manager of Network Growth is tasked assisting the development and implementation of a go-to-market distribution network strategy for new vehicle sales for the European market. The role of the Network Growth Manager is responsible for developing the location criteria and measures of success for the sales infrastructure. This individual will have shared responsibility for network growth including cadencing markets, scoping storefront locations, and coordinating customer moment that matter with the customer experience team. The position is also responsible for developing and managing the staff trainings plan for the store or agent operators. The Network Growth Manager will help develop strategies, manage multifaceted projects, and develop solutions to complex issues.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Network Development, together with cross-functional teams, to develop the regional go-to-market network strategy.
  • Coordinate location scoping with 3rd party and in-house real estate teams.
  • Coordinate storefront customer flows with the customer experience team.
  • Implement network strategy that will ensure regional capacity is sufficient to meet all new, pre-owned, aftersales, and service targets through 2022 and develop strategy for 2023 and beyond.
  • Manage dealer, agent, and direct to consumer performance variance within regions: support field teams in analyzing performance data & developing improvement strategies.
  • Routinely analyze and interpret findings of market studies, develop and implement action plans with regions. Direct all work conducted by third parties.
  • Evaluate, propose, and award open points in markets where opportunity exists. Support regions in launches of new dealers, agents, or direct to consumer platforms with coordination of sales, customer experience, and marketing teams.
  • Supervise all support programs for dealer, agent, and direct to consumer activities including profitability analysis and improvement.
  • Coordinate between dealer, agent, direct to consumer platforms, region & corporate, all corporate identity & corporate design projects to ensure compliance GM’s requirements.
  • Train regional staff in use of dealer/agent performance measurement tools, network development policies & procedures, legal awareness, & business management.
  • Refine global pre-owned program for launch and management.
  • Coordinate with parent company the revision and implementation of the GM Brand Standards manual for local implementation.
  • Create and manage new dealer, agent, and storefront staff orientation classes for formal introduction to GM’s staff, policies, and practices.
  • Ensure legal compliance of all network development actions, programs, and policies.
  • Attend and report out at quarterly network review forums with regional teams.
Additional Job Description
  • Minimum of 4 years related experience.
  • Ability to funnel sales, market, and demographic data into usable information for the purposes of strategy development.
  • Extensive network development and/or management experience including market strategy development and direct dealer contact.
  • Knowledge & understanding of overall retail operations, automotive preferred.
  • Influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Resource Management & Project Management experience.
  • Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; able to manage multiple priorities and workflow.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
  • Receptive to both domestic and international travel.
