NPI NSP – Integration Professional for Software Defined Networks ( Customer Engineering E-W Europe)

We are active in a growing and challenging business which is in constant evolution. We are in contact with R&D teams, Project/Program and Technical Managers, Consulting Engineers and Business Development teams, Local Account teams and Regional Customer Engineering & Support teams.

We are introducing, via Demos, Workshops, Proof of Concepts, Trials and projects, the new ION Carrier SDN products and features to our customers in the EMEA Region. Network Design for the above Technologies, Products and Solutions also belong to our set of responsibilities.


Goal:

To provide the NMS expertise for handling of Carrier Software Defined Network related Proof-of-Concepts, demo(s), Workshops and/or Post-Sales activities, in the area of Carrier Software Defined Networks solutions, all based on the Nokia IP Routing, Telco Cloud, Optics and Carrier SDN product portfolio.


Your main responsibilities will include:

  • (Technical) Pre-Sales, Post-Sales, Engineering and Professional Service support for the area of Software Defined Networks solutions product portfolio in the EMEA region (especially E-W).
  • Capture customer requirements, define relevant Use Cases and work out a corresponding list of required features & capabilities, and convert Use Case/Features into Test Cases/Test Plans.
  • Validation of Use Case(s) by staging and demonstrating them in Nokia labs and/or customer site(s). You convince the customer technical representatives that Nokia can provide them with the best technical solution.
  • Occasionally help troubleshoot and problem-solve customer support requests working closely with the technical support teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Support in defining and specifying NSP Platform Design Documents.
  • Responsible for NSP solution testing and implementation during NPI ( POCs, Demo, Acceptance phase).
  • Deliver technical presentations and workshops to our internal and external customers.
  • Work with multiple points of contact, mainly product managers and (technical) project managers to ensure support requests are solved in a timely manner.
  • Because the role is an integral part of the ION EMEA RBC - Customer Engineering, the ability to work as part of a distributed team is critical.
  • Report customer requirements to NSP product management teams.
  • The role will require short international travel, sometimes at short notice.
  • A flexible approach to work, especially when communicating with other Nokia groups (sometimes in different time zones), is essential.
  • The ability to thrive under pressure and to cope with stressful situations is of importance.

Qualifications - Internal

  • Bachelor/Master of Science/Engineering or 1-2 years of experience in the telecom industry, dealing with IP/Optics technologies.
  • Knowledgeable on Network Management Systems, networking concepts and related technologies.
  • Knowledgeable on scripting and mastering programming languages and techniques.
  • Hands-on experience including design, build, deploy, trouble-shooting & fault-finding, etc.

Mandatory (“a must”):

  • Linux/Unix shell knowledge
  • Excellent with configuring and/or designing networking equipment in datacenters/carrier networks
  • Experience with IP/Eth & Routing protocols

Optional (“a huge plus”):

  • Experience with optical networks
  • Experience deploying VMWare, OpenStack and/or CloudStack
  • Experience with OpenFlow, BGP-LS and/or PCEP
  • Experience with deploying, configuring and designing of SDN concepts & technologies
  • Experience with Ansible and/or Mistral
  • Experience with the Nokia IP portfolio ( Nuage, Telco Clouds, Packet Core )
  • Experience with the Nokia Optics portfolio
  • Experience with Netconf/YANG and/or OpenConfig
  • Experience with T-API and/or REST

Optional (“a plus”):

  • Experience deploying firewalls, load-balancers, storage (NAS, SAN, virtualization)
  • Experience with Java and Python/Perl
  • Experience working at a Cloud Service Provider
