Onsite Desktop Support Engineers

ESP are a managed serviced provider of IT support and infrastructure solutions, supporting clients worldwide, but pride ourselves on being able to provide our customers with a service that feels truly local.

We are recruiting multiple onsite IT engineers across Europe but specifically looking to recruit 2 desktop support technicians working in the Rolle area of Switzerland.

You will be part of a creative, collaborative, and challenging culture as you work from cloud to customer, delivering the best in user experience.

Key Accountabilities Include:
  • First-hand support in installing, troubleshooting, and fixing desktops, printers, laptop, and other computer peripherals hardware problems.
  • Desk side support and PC break/fix including basic administration of Windows O/S.
  • Providing IT Infrastructure field support which includes troubleshooting hardware, software, operating system issues and problems and fixing the issues without impacting / violating the hardware warranty or customer security compliance requirements.
  • Follow installation instructions in installation and troubleshooting desktop applications.
  • Smart hand support for peripheral and networking hardware, including, but not limited to monitors, keyboards, mice, printers, fax machines, scanners, routers, wireless routers, switches, firewalls, racks, cabinets, multi-port data termination panels all under ‘Smart Hands’ capability supported by Company, however support from remote technician is available.
  • Working with enterprise LAN and WAN setups and concepts. Ability to perform smart hand activity under instruction-based activities at sites.
  • Troubleshooting on Anti-spyware and Anti-virus software.
  • TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and RDP.
  • Lift / move computer equipment weighing up to 50Lbs where required.
Skills and Experience:
  • 2+ years’ experience providing technical support up to executive management level.
  • Associate degree in Electronics and CompTIA A+ Certification. A ‘Client’ specific technician certification program will support during transition.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues with systems and networks using good deductive reasoning skills under ‘Smart Hands’ capability.
  • Good written and oral communications and people skills with clients and management.
  • Ability to work with deadlines and complete tasks on-time.
  • Aware of ITIL process of Incident, Change, Problem, Service Request, and related activities like spare and buffer stock management.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Enthusiasm for learning that inspires others and promotes continuous learning.
  • Good knowledge and awareness of latest technologies and solutions.
  • Take pride in the work they do and uphold the exacting standards we would expect.
  • Fluent Dutch and English language skills.

Desirable:
  • Knowledge of Active Directory.
  • Knowledge and experience of supporting tablets.
  • Knowledge and experience on software and OS deployment using tools.
  • Knowledge of wireless networking.

Development opportunities and exposure:
  • Asset Deployment & Lifecycle:Create a seamless user experience for PC imaging and refreshes, joiners, PC lifecycle (retrieval and decom), and during incident resolution of software break fix / hardware break fix.
  • Customer Experience Solutions:Directly providing a ‘face’ for IT resolving all enquiries and requests by providing an exceptional service experience with a blend of technical and soft skills.
  • Last Mile Support / Smart Hands: Exposure as required to assisting with Data Centre requests, Executive Support and Event & Conference Services delivery at all sites within the IT Event Services Team’s scope, to minimize business disruption and ensure continuity of service.

This role will be working Monday to Friday 9 a.m. - 5.30 p.m.
