Your ‘day to day’
As an Open Innovation Associate in PMI Life Sciences, you will function and operate to support key activities, projects and programs of Life Sciences Open Innovation team, closely collaborating with Discovery R&D and business partners.

More specifically, you’ll
  • Initiate, manage and lead initiatives, inclusive of strategic company projects, supporting innovation, research, and product development.
  • Identify and analyze innovations, potential investments, and in-licensing opportunities to support the growth of Open Innovation and Discovery projects, programs, and portfolios
  • Act as a trusted research innovation partner and expert that will be relied on for life sciences innovation scouting, opportunities evaluation and projects execution
  • Perform data-driven research and analytics, lead the research process with help of appropriate data mining tools and perform qualitative and quantitative research from insights to conceptualization within timeframe and budget
  • Develop creative ideas and solutions based on research and industry insight to formulate critical thinking for innovation goals and deliverables
  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with teams, internal collaborators and external scientific teams and business partners
  • Work collaboratively within highly matrixed, multi-functional team and across organizational boundaries to successfully achieve goals and deliverables.
  • Prepare data-driven goal-oriented pitch presentations for research targets, projects, and business opportunities
  • Prepare executive level presentations/workshops based on the internal audience, project, and meeting requirements.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary due diligence efforts and represent PMI Open Innovation at international partnering meetings and scientific conferences.

Who we’re looking for
  • Advanced degree (PhD, MBA, or PhD/MBA) in one or several following fields: molecular biology, biochemistry, bioorganic chemistry, genetics, molecular pharmacology, drug development, business analytics, business administration. Additional degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in biotech or pharmaceutical product development industries or international management consulting or investment firm
  • Scientific Excellence: fundamental science, drug development process, biotech, and pharmaceutical product development
  • Analytics & research: knowledge in business analytics, databases, strategies and modern software and AI-tools to facilitate research process is a plus
  • Presentations: demonstrates ability to analyze and present data, projects plans and tactics clearly and accurately to relevant audiences to inform and direct decisions
  • Team-working: able to work across borders, interfaces, time zones, and a variety of R&D and business functions
  • You demonstrate a high degree of flexibility and enthusiasm to travel on short notice for different durations (around 50% of the time)
  • High fluency in English – other languages considered an advantage
