Job content
The St. Gallen Endowment for Prosperity through Trade promotes transparency in economic policy choice. Because we want globalisation to be better managed for the benefit of all, we reconceive how government policy is measured, democratise access to that information so that more effective policies can be identified, and advance policy initiatives so that international commerce will be a stronger engine of human progress in the future. We are a rapidly growing remote-working organisation with a team of 38 experts located in a dozen countries. Our foundational initiative, the Global Trade Alert, was created in 2009 and has become an international flagship for transparency and analysis on trade policy worldwide. In 2021, we launched the Digital Policy Alert to improve the regulation of the digital economy. Our initiatives are internationally recognised sources of insight for policymakers, corporate decision-makers, analysts, and journalists. We have big plans.
Tasks
To support our ambitious growth agenda, we are seeking an Operations Manager to support the Executive Board.
The successful candidate will manage the Endowment’s personnel, financials and associated reporting. The personnel-related tasks include managing staff contracts across several jurisdictions and occasionally distilling the essentials for the employment conditions abroad. The financials-related tasks include coordinating project-based accounting with our external bookkeepers and frequent financial reporting to senior leadership. Finally, the reporting-related tasks include organising our annual reporting for public oversight and institutional donors.
Requirements
We are looking for young professionals who
- have 2-5 years of experience in controlling, human resources or a related role; experience with cross-border employment relations is a significant advantage.
- successfully concluded a formal education in accounting, controlling or labour law.
- are eager to grow their professional capabilities and strive for operational excellence.
- can work independently from a remote location and appreciate its benefits.
- have excellent communication and drafting skills in German and English; knowledge of French or Spanish would be an advantage.
