SUMMARY OF ROLE

This role is essential to develop, maintain and improve direct customer contacts and relations as per the defined Go-to-Market strategy. The person in this role will manage such contacts in a predefined sales territory and will collaborate with other Sales Engineers in the DACH region to maximize business opportunities. Such business opportunities are focused but are not limited to the sales and promotion of products and services, concepts and solutions as provided by the Final Control Business Unit and other Emerson businesses as strategically determined.
The role requires a professional and ethical demeanor with a sense of urgency to service customers as well as collaborative teamwork. The person in this role also ensures that the Business Unit is properly promoted and supported within the sales region and always drives amplification of adjacent products from other business units to extend the Emerson scope.

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

•Identifies the market requirements and specifics, develops and executes the strategies and tactics for growth of orders and profitability in the agreed sales territory.
•Signs responsible to achieve, bookings and discount targets for the Fisher valve product lines in the agreed sales territory
•Actively visits existing customers to promote the entire product portfolio and services (maintaining customer base)
•Seeks new opportunities to sell assigned products and services to new customers
•Reports regularly to the Sales Director on project opportunities and status, customer requirements, competition strategies, market trends, business results and regional market outlook
•Negotiates business contracts with customers within the agreed Delegation of Authority considering discounts, prices and volume structures
•Updates the Emerson customer relationship management (CRM) tool on a regular basis with regards to customer organisation and contacts as well as project opportunities and related time frames and commercial information
•Oversees, ensures and personally supports the execution of committed contractual terms to customers in all business transactions
•Maximizes both “face to face time” and other communication possibilities with customers to build a sustainable relationship
•Continuously drives the improvement of customer satisfaction by understanding, communicating and executing solutions to their needs
•Participates in customer development activities as trade shows, fairs, conferences aiming to promote the sale of products, solutions and services
•Maintains and continuously develops high level of products and technologies knowledge required to perform the job
•Maintains close relationship with product managers, inside sales and other business unit organizations to successfully manage customer projects
•Proactively creates plans and strategies for the geographical area of responsibility supporting growth initiatives
•Practices and promotes the “Think Customer” culture in all aspects of the role
•Ensures that all transactions are properly screened and recorded in accordance with the company’s Trade Compliance procedures and escalates any concerns or questions to the local Gatekeeper
•Adheres to Business Ethics stipulated by Emerson




REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

•Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering or similar
•5+ years professional experience, ideally in a similar role in the flow control industry (e.g. control valves or measurement solution in the Chemical, Power or Process industry)
•Knowledge of ASME, ANSI, DIN, EN regulations for the process industry
•Strong communication and presentation skills at all levels
•Be an action oriented, self motivated, results driven sales person
•Be a team player willing to work with other sales people in the region and globally
•Strong commercial skills and the ability to build tactical plans to penetrate targeted markets
•Fluent language skills in English and German
•Willing to travel within the sales territory and international occasionally
•Good knowledge in Microsoft Office 365
•Beneficial: MBA
