The Partner Marketing Advisor (PMA) role is key to Microsoft’s partner management strategy as part of the Global Partner Solution organization (GPS). The goal is to develop, run and land the Go-to-Market (GTM) plays/activities for the following solution areas: Application & Infrastructure and Data & AI.
The PMA is a strategic partner marketing role that aligns to business priorities and the PMA is accountable for driving priority performance across end customer segments with a focus on Corporate and Enterprise. The PMA will manage 15 to 20 partners facing external and internal responsibilities while working across Microsoft and the Partner organization to ensure that GTM plays / activities are aligned to business goals and partner offerings. The seniority of the role evidences Microsoft’s deep commitment to the partner ecosystem to build a mutually beneficial business relationship by working closely with the leadership teams at the partner.

Responsibilities

External responsibilities:
  • Engage and broaden the community with external partner marketeers, sharing insights and inspire for new marketing trends.
  • Develop, support, and execute a go-to-market (GTM) plan and activities with and thru partnersand build jointly-drafted Sales Play/IPS Execution Plans that meet both the Partner and Microsoft business priorities, in alignment with expected business outcomes for the local area.
  • Challenge, inspire and transform the partners GTM approach towards Modern Marketing and Sales, advise on overall partners’ Marketing strategy and secure alignment to Microsoft’s GTM approach.
  • Depth engagement with 15 to 20 high-touch partners (80% continuation thru the year)
  • Lead results/outcome measurement and optimization: Ensure campaign lead flow (inbound, outbound) operating as planned and nurture stream/hand-offs are prepped. Educate partners on Microsoft tools and lead sharing on targeted accounts.

Internal responsibilities:
  • Orchestrate the GTM partner selection and activities with key local stakeholders: WE Strategic PMAs, local GPS Lead, Build-With and Sell-With teams as well as local Industry, Segment and Business Group Leads. Be responsible to strategically balance investments across the Global Partner Solution Organization aligned to partner strategy and business priorities for your solution area and industry.
  • Provide visibility to GPS and Business owners on Partner and campaign insights, progress toward seasonality and segment commitments, identify gaps, leveraging insights to recommend appropriate corrective action to accelerate campaign execution.
  • Budget management including ensuring proper purchase orders/investment entries, SOW, and POE expectations are set with Partner or executing agency and review invoices and POE for execution investment made with assigned partner.
  • Manage execution reporting on outcomes vs. goals to optimize ongoing execution and track investment ROI.
  • Build awareness of partner business and success stories among subsidiary leadership. Be a champion for holistic growth. Advocate for investments and execution approaches that drive the One Microsoft business.
  • Seek opportunities to collaborate across organizations, connecting activities to simplify, drive success and broaden impact.

Qualifications

We are looking for a proactive and self-driven Marketing profile that can engage with partners on a senior management level, who can challenge and transform their go to market strategies, and who is an expert in Marketing.

  • Experience in product or channel marketing, partner channel development, business development, alliance management, through partner marketing in the technology industry.
  • Extensive experience of managing virtual teams across functions and geographies.
  • Inclusive and collaborative – driving teamwork and cross-team alignment.
  • Strong partner relationship management and solution development skills.
  • Strong executive presence including communication and presentation skills with a high degree of comfort to large and small audiences.
  • Experience with change management.
  • Problem solving mentality leveraging internal and/or external resources, conflict resolution, and follow through with partners.
  • Must be fluent in German as this role is based in Switzerland.
